The figure stood stock still, silently gazing at the sleeping stranger. A toothy grin spread across his skull as he watched the little human. How could something so powerful be so stupid? Down here everyone, monster or not, had to fight for survival. Yet here this girl rested as if it was the most peaceful place in the world, like her life wasn't hanging in the balance.

Seriously? This is the human? What kind of idiot would lower their guard like this...

Inwardly chuckling, he teleported closer to her unconcious form. Taking his time to silently assess the 'threat', he found himself slowly unimpressed. The girl was sound asleep, her long hair tangled and frizzy, her sweater torn in many places, not to mention the fact that she was absolutely filthy. What caught him off guard was the blood that coated her black leggings, the stench of it making him grin ferally. He sniffed experimentally and couldn't help the groan that slipped past his teeth as the heady scent tickled his senses, the scent sharp and untainted. He leaned down, running his tongue across the smooth column of her throat, humming pleasantly as the warm liquid exploded on his tastebuds. Body shifting, the girl's breath hitched before a muffled whimper broke through the howl of the wind around them, freezing him in place momentarily as he fought to regain his composure.

Wrenching away from the strange vixen, he scowled darkly, his eye flashing a brilliant gold before an angry snarl left his throat. The girl seemed to whimper more, her eyes fluttering softly as she fought to stay asleep, although he couldn't care less at the moment. So distraught with his momentary lapse in judgement, he did the only logical thing.

He grunted and wrapped a bony hand around her throat, squeezing hard enough to get a response. He didn't have to wait long as her eyes snapped open to gaze up into the eyes of her killer, her face scrunched in pain as her skin began to turn a grotesque color of red and purple. Shimmering gold met smoldering red in a clash of confusion and panic before her eyes scoured his face, widening at his skeletal face and large gnashing teeth.

Good, that was how he liked it..

Chuckling darkly, the monster tightened his hold around her neck, smiling wickedly at the pain that crossed her features. Her arms left the refuge of warmth and clasped around his bony fingers, desperately clawing at his grip. A small squeak of pain passed her lips, only succeeding in making him more excited. The girl struggled underneath him, kicking and thrashing wildly to no avail.

"L-let...go!" She managed to croak out, her breath escaping in a rather unflattering wheeze.

"Why would I do that, sweetheart? You look so lovely with a face full of fear," He cooed, pleased to see her body tremble and her eyes fill with unshed tears. When her eyes drifted upwards and her hands started to lose their grip, he scoffed lightly and dropped her back into the snow, allowing her much needed air.

She gasped and coughed loudly, startling her flower companion. With a start he jumped, but she quickly cradled him against her chest, thankful that he was still hidden. She looked up at the face of her attacker, her eyes molten gold and her face scrunched up in a rather impressive snarl.

"Have you lost your god damn mind?" She screamed, her voice losing all edge of fear only to be replaced with defiant fury.

His jaw went slack, and he backed up a single step as he took in the strange sight before him. No one had ever challenged him, at least none that managed to tell the tale, and he found himself both intruiged and curious about the stranger glaring gratefully before him. A growl passed his teeth as he glared warningly at the ranting woman in front of him.

"I mean really? What the fuck is wrong with you monsters? It's all the same, 'let's kill the human' bullshit. Well you know what, I'm done being scared of you assholes!" The girl raved, oblivious to the fire rising up to pick against his bony hand, encompassing his jacket's arm.

At this point he was fuming and his patience thin, "Listen here, you stupid little girl, I don't know who you think you're talking to, but if you keep this up then I'm going to have a great time.." his eye lights disappearing completely.

She scoffed and rolled her eyes not the least bit scared at his superfluous show of power, "Yeah, right. Some intimidation tactic you got there. You know what? I ain't scared of you! You no good, spineless sack of bones!"

He slammed his fist into the tree behind her, splintering the wood into a small crater. The girl didn't even flinch, only making him even more upset. With a low growl, he thrust his face close to hers, letting his sharp teeth snap in front of her, "Listen, bitch-"

"It's Frisk, dickhead!"

"Like I give a flying fuck what your name is. Interrupt me one more time and I'll end your miserable life right here and now."

"Good. Kill me," she crooned, her face shifting into a look of both determination and confidence. Her eyes locked to his and a snarky smirk nearly split her face in two as she watched the monster consider her words. He did not disappoint.

He shifted slowly from one foot to the other, his eyes widening a fraction before his gaze flickered elsewhere and his teeth gnashed harshly once more. He certainly hadn't expected that response and could only find her to be either completely fucking nuts or absolutely stupid. With a shaky laugh, he held his skull in one hand and his gut in the other, almost doubling over as her words crashed over him, "You must be absolutely nuts, girl. Especially to be asking for death."

The girl merely huffed before wincing in pain, clutching her leg once more. It was finally starting to feel okay until the skeleton had decided to show up and toss her around like a rag doll. The action didn't go unnoticed by the monster, and he frowned slightly, "Girl like you'd never survive out here. Too weak and fleshy." He commented, poking her throbbing leg. She hissed and slapped his hand away.

"Is that a challenge, numbskull?"

He grinned widely, "No, it's a bet. Tell ya what, if you can make it to the city in one piece, I might just be willing to let ya live.."

"And why would you do that?" She bit out, eyeing him warily. Just a moment ago he was choking the life out of her, and now he was offering peace?

Honestly, he didn't know what exactly came over him. Whether it was the fire in her eyes or her defiant nature, he was surely intrigued. No one posed this much of a challenge, nor had been so bold or oppositional, but he would have fun breaking her. That is if she even got the chance. "Let's just say that things are bound to be interesting. Have fun surviving, human."

As he turned to walk away, he gave her a wry smile over his shoulder, "One more thing. If you don't make it to the city then you're mine.."

She had no time to react before he chuckled and teleported back to his designated sentry station.

Letting out a heavy sigh, he rubbed the back of his skull, "Man, boss is gonna kill me for this.."
