~At dinner~
"So what was so important Rose?" Nat asked after we all placed our dinner orders.
"Okay, yes. I was getting to that. You two deserve to know the truth," I said. Steve's' eyebrows furrowed, and I got a pointed look from Natasha. Maybe I should have just kept my mouth shut... Too late now,
"Rose and I are dating," Clint said before I had a chance to.
"BUT, don't" I paused "Make a big deal about it," I said in a whisper.
Nat and Steve looked at each other and laughed. What was so funny.
"Oh honey," Nat laughed
"We've known for almost a month," Steve finished.
"What?" Clint and I said in unison. "How?"
Nat laughed more and Steve turned a bit pink.
"How I demanded,"
"Clint dropped his wallet a few weeks ago, and I found it," Steve started. Clint slapped his forehead.
"Godamn it," I mumbled.
"What?" I was genuinely confused. Clint took out his wallet and passed it to me. Still confused I opened it. It had his ID, his credit card, some cash, and... Oh dear. A pocket picture of us. Dead giveaway...
It was a nice picture of course, but it was all too obvious. I pressed my eyes closed, and handed him his wallet.
"Alright, tally the loses. Who else besides the people at this table know?" Clint asked.
"As far as we know, nobody," Steve replied
I was so relieved. But then I had a thought.
"Why?"
"Why what" Natasha asked.
"Why did you tell Tony? Or anyone,"
"Well for one thing I'm not an ass hole," she said.
"And we're your friends for another," Steve said. "You've gotta give us some credit,"
I laughed.
"Well thank god, you found it and not anyone else," Clint commented.
"Well, congratulations anyways," Steve said.
We all laughed.
