Alicia Denali Faye was in a good mood.
She was in love. With who? Nobody. She was in love with dancing. It had taken her some time to realize it, but now, she knew.
She was a ballerina. A modern dancer. And she was proud of it.
At that one moment, as she sat at a table with a brush, hair pins, a hair tie, hairspray and a hairnet before her; she knew. As she stared at her reflection in the mirror in front of her, teaching herself how to put her dark brown curls up into a neat ballet bun, she knew.
She knew that, without her realizing it, dancing had become her dream. It was her motivation, her love, her life. It had creeped in and taken over, started to be her everything. And she was happy.
She loved to dance.
~~~
Idiot.The boy infuriating. How dare he twirl like that? Like some dumb fool. He was mocking her. Mocking her dreams, her love. Making fun of ballet.
God, would she love to put him in a ballet class. Then he would know. He would know that ballerinas worked twice as hard as other people. They went to class almost every day of the week. They worked and sweat and hurt just like anyone else. More than anyone else.
He couldn't that. One class - one class - and he would be done for.
Idiotic boy.
Alicia's day had started out fine.Then, at dance class, it became wonderful. Perfect, even. She had fun and lived every minute of it. Then her mother had to ruin it all.
So there she was - sitting in her closet. Hopeless. Her cheeks? Tear-stained. And she was mad. If her mother hated driving her so much - hated the fact that she danced so much - why didn't she stop her? Her mother had said it herself: if not for her, she couldn't dance. And Alicia hated her for it.
Because she couldn't stop. She could never stop dancing. She was just so hopelessly in love and her heart just kept hopelessly breaking.
So she kept crying.
~~~Alicia was okay.
The next day, she went to dance class. She danced with everything she had - with her whole heart and soul. And she fell hopelessly in love again.
She could still dance.
So she would be okay.
