[ 3 ] Happy Birthday (1/2)

// Imagine you are Kakashi's student, it is your 18th birthday and he decides to take you out for a treat //

You had just returned home from a long mission; you had been gone a little over 3 months, and it was your first B-ranked mission, alone.  You had been given the task of assassinating a cruel Lord of a foreign country.

Kakashi-sensei had made sure to always occampany you on your missions, no matter how insignificant they seemed to be. His reasoning was just because "he wanted to look out for you". Although you enjoyed your sensei's company, you had to admit you were fairly happy he was not present at the time Lady Tsunade had assigned you the mission-- because he surely would have tried to intervene and keep you from going on it alone. He had been sent away on his own mission with Might Guy at the time.

To your surprise, nothing had went wrong and everything went smoothly for you. No issues at all. It was just exceedingly hard being patient and waiting for the right time to strike.

As you approached the village gates you smiled and waved up to the watchmen perched above, they returned your gestures and opened the doors for you. You entered the village and began towards the Hokage's office to give your report and receive your pay.

"Excellent work, I knew you could do it." Tsunade praised you as she wrote information down onto a file regarding your mission before placing it into a folder and placing it into a drawer behind her desk. You smiled happily back at her.

"I don't know why Kakashi hasn't let you go on a mission alone, before. You are perfectly capable of fending for yourself." She then took hold of a half-empty glass and swirled the red liquid around for a moment before taking a drink.

"He is just really protective, I guess. Has been since I became his student." You shrugged.

Tsunade raised an eyebrow, "Hmm, yes, I suppose he has his reasoning. Still, he was none-too-thrilled when he returned from his mission to find out I had sent you on a B-rank alone."

Your (e/c) eyes widened slightly at this, "He is back already? I though he was supposed to be gone for almost a year?" You asked.

"Well, he and Guy managed to finish the job early." Tsunade explained as she pulled out what appeared to be a checkbook and began writing down on the next available page before tearing it loose and extending it out for you. "Here, drop by the payroll office on your way out to get your earnings."

You took the paper and smiled, "Thank you, Lady Tsunade."

"You're welcome. Have a good rest of your day-- get some rest."

You nodded and turned to leave. As Tsunade was about to return to more work she noticed a bit of information on your file.

"Oh, and happy birthday, (y/n)." She suddenly called and got your attention again.

You turned back to face her with another smile. "Oh, thank you!"

"The big 18, huh?" She smirked. "Try not to get too crazy tonight, you have had a long mission and need to take it easy."

You nodded, "I'll try my best, but I dont really have any plans. But I will keep that in mind if anything does come up."

The two of you then parted ways and you left to get your pay and head home.
