I've always wanted to be a social media influencer ever since I watched my first YouTube video. Although it seems like an unachievable career, I'm managing. After all, having a viral video of you doing something idiotic surface all over the internet is the easiest way to achieve that goal. Luckily that happened to me. I was currently editing a new video for my channel, which has grown quickly due to my viral video exposure. Even though I have a decent following, I still live in my hometown and I'm practically dying to have an excuse to go visit LA.

"Are we going or not? I'm really thirsty and I refuse to get anything other than the new Starbucks drink." my best friend Olivia said.

"I'm coming! I hope they haven't run out." I said and closed my laptop quickly.

We got into her car and began driving to our local Starbucks. I looked through my YouTube feed and noticed a new video was uploaded by none other than James Charles. But this video seems to be more about Ian than James. I smiled and decided to watch the video once I got back home.

"What are you all smiley about (y/n)?" Olivia said while keeping her eyes on the road.

"James uploaded a new video."

"Let me guess, Ian is the main star of the video." she teased.

"Shut up. So what if he is? I just think he's cute that's all." I shrugged.

She shook her head and smirked. We finally pulled up to Starbucks and ordered the new drink.

"I hope it's good, it sounds kind of gross if I'm being honest." I grimaced.

We pulled up to the window and waited for the barista to open the glass.

"Two-woah! You're that girl from that viral video! Oh my god!" the guy said.

"Yep, that's me." I cringed a bit as I was reminded of the video.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. So how much?" Olivia asked.

"$9.13"

She handed him the cash and grabbed our drinks. We decided to park at the nearby park. It was a nice day to be out. I took a sip from my drink and was surprised at how much the flavors complimented each other.

"I take back what I said earlier, this is bomb."

"Right! So, about Ian..." Olivia was always trying to get me to talk about him.

I groaned and rolled my eyes.
"Whaaaaaat?"

"When are you going to slide in his dms? Hmm?" she nudged me.

"God, you're so fucking cringy Olivia."

"I bet he's seen that video of you."

"Oh god I sure hope not. That'd be even more embarrassing."

"How come?"

"How come? Hmm, maybe because it was one of the lowest moments in my life."

She got up and threw her cup away and sat back down on the bench.

"That's true. But you know that was sort of your fault. Those shorts were extremely tight and you knew it."

"I didn't know they would rip! I was just trying to have fun and dance a little. The fact that I ran and face planted right after was just the cherry on top of a horrible disaster."

We got back in her car and began heading back to my house. I got my permit suspended for speeding and not driving with an adult. So that meant no driving and having to take a ride everywhere I went. We pulled up in front of my house.

"Alright (y/n). I'm telling you this now, either you talk to Ian or I will put in a few words for you."

"Don't! I'll do it just...let me figure out how." I said as I held onto the open car door.

"You better!" I closed the door and went upstairs to my room.

I pulled my laptop onto my lap for the second time today and finished the final touches on my new video. While I waited for the video to upload, I began watching James' new video. Apparently Ian was going to do his own makeup. I can't wait to see how this turns out.

I laid down on my bed and stared at my ceiling. If I ever want to get Ian's attention, I'll have to get James' first which isn't going to be easy. I need to text Olivia for her input.

Y/N: i need to get James' attention give me ideas for a video

O: makeup duh follow one of his tutorials or some shit idk

O: why do you need his attention again?

Y/N: to get Ian's attention

O: that seems a bit sneaky but okay

Y/N: why?

O: you'll basically be using James to get to Ian

Y/N: not really bc i've always wanted to collab with him anyways and i'd love to be friends w James anyways

O: true, lets film it tomorrow!

Y/N: okay see you tomorrow then I guess

Looks like I'll be doing this after all. Let's see how it goes. I hope I don't make a fool out of myself again.
