Finding help for our American veterans needing assistance is becoming more of a challenge every day. There are so many of our military heroes that do not get the treatment they deserve. Their requirements are often swept aside and ignored as if their contributions to society no longer matter.
Don't take me wrong; we have Veterans Day for the living, Memorial Day for the defunct, and a few other lesser known days of recognition. On these holidays, we do remember their brave service and pay tribute to them.
But what about all the other days of the year when no one remembers? How often do we actually stop and consider the plight of the men and women who served, and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so we can enjoy the many freedoms and privileges we have in this country? Not often enough! The reality is, many of Homeless Shelters in Virginia are suffering and dying from health-related problems every day. And it's the actual day to day living that counts. They continue to struggle with many problems in their daily lives.
There are so many Homeless American veterans living in crisis throughout the country. Despite what you think about the availability of veterans benefits, you may think they are receiving top-notch health care, but, there are many military veterans left without appropriate healthcare. They suffer every day from numerous physical and mental health-related problems. Often, the horrific memories they spend a lifetime trying to forget, compound other health issues.
Unfortunately, some of our ex-servicemen and women are experiencing many injustices. Some people prefer to ignore the predicaments because they do not want to acknowledge the cold harsh facts of the difficulties our veterans are living through every day.
Many veterans are already homeless and others are at risk of soon becoming homeless. Just drive through the streets of any major city and you will likely see homeless people. You most likely never stopped to think that some of those people are probably homeless heroes. You might think they have access to the best medical care, and always have a place to stay. You might think they would have privileges set aside for them to ensure their safety and survival.and
There is a strong difference between the general perception and the quiet reality of the situation. The quiet reality is that so many are suffering and facing poverty. Many return home from serving our nation and are faced with a lack of support from society, from their friends and even from their own family at times. Many are currently living in substandard conditions, and many are living in extremely dismal conditions. so help them and Would you help them if you could?
