Shattered

"Babe, ready ka na ba?" She asked. I nodded and gave her a hug.

"Are you sure you're okay with this? May reservation parin ako sa-"

"Sigurado ako." She said and smiled. I smiled back. "Tara?"

We got out of the car and both went our seperate ways. But before she left, I gave her a quick peck on the lips.

"I love you." I said.

"I love you, too."

Then, I went to look for you.

I smiled. "Good to see you again, Kath."

I sat down on the grass near your gravestone.

"Andito siya, Kath. Dinalaw niya siya." No answer.

"She makes me happy, Kath. She really does."

No answer. Just the wind blowing and the trees moving. It was early in the morning. About 7 o'clock. Too early to be here, but she wanted to come. She said it was better in the morning. And she was right.

"Hindi ko pala naikwento sayo lahat. Nung unang nakilala ko siya."

I was walking home from the visit. Still thinking about what you had said to me earlier.

Kailangan mong buksan ang puso mo at magmahal ng iba.

Paano ko yun magagawa? Siya lang ang mahal ko. At walang magbabago.

I was so deep in thought that I didn't look where I was going.

BEEP BEEP BEEEEEEEP

*crash*

I felt pain on my right side. Like a sharp knife. I fell down. All I can see was the sky.

"Tulong! Tulong!" I heard a girl say. Her voice was familiar. I tried to make out her face but my eyes were slowly closing. I tried hard to keep them open.

"Manong, tulungan niyo po ako!" She yelled again.

Then suddenly, everthing went black.

I woke up and found myself in a white room. 

"Daniel, anak!" Si mama. "Thank God, nagising ka na."

"Ma? A-anong nangyari? Nasaan ako?"

"Nasa hospital ka, you got hit by a car. Buti at may nagligtas sayo. Kung wala siya nako, baka hindi ka andito ngayon."

I sat up. Sino kaya siya?

"Gutom ka na ba?" She asked, quickly searching inside her huge bag.

"H-hindi ma, okay lang ako. How long was I out?"

"3 days. Dumadalaw din siya." Is she refering to her again?

"Sino siya, ma?" I asked. I wanted to meet this girl and thank her for saving me.

"Nasa labas siya." She smiled at me and went outside. Mamaya maya, may babaeng pumasok.

Teka.. s-si-

"Kath?!"

"Uhm, hindi po ako si Kath." Said the girl. Am I having hallucinations?!

"Sigurado ka ba?" I asked to make sure.

"Oo, baka nagkamali lang po kayo.."

"S-sorry, magkamukha mo kasi si-" I closed my mouth.

"Sino?" She asked.

"Wala.. Daniel pala." I said and held out my hand.

"Ella." She smiled and we shook hands.

Little did I know that she was going to be the one that opened my heart and made me learn to love again.

2 years has passed and I'm here telling you about it on your grave.

To tell you the truth, kami na ni Ella. It's our 1 year anniversary today. I reserved a restaurant but she insisted on coming here instead. Hindi ko siya matitiis so pumayag ako.

Alam niya kasi na birthday mo ngayon. Madalas kasi ako nagkwentuhan tungkol sayo.

And since it's your birthday, she wanted me to celebrate it with you.

Ang bilis ng panahon noh?

Mahal na mahal na mahal ko si Ella. Pero alam niya na ikaw ang pinakamahal ko. Tangap naman niya. She's been through it before. Patrick Rivero daw ang pangalan niya. We have so much in common.

"I'm sure they're happy wherever they are now." Someone said behind me. I turned around and saw Ella. Her eyes looked red but she was smiling. I stood up and kissed her forhead. Then, I hugged her tightly.

"Tara na?" She asked.

"Sige, mauna ka na sa kotse. May sasabihin lang ako kay Kath."

"Sige, wa kang magtatagal ha?" She kissed me on the cheeks. "I love you."

"I love you, too." I smiled at her. She started walking towards the car.

I looked back at your gravestone.

Kath, mahal na mahal na mahal kita. Walang magbabago. Ikaw parin ang nasa puso ko. Ikaw parin ang mamahalin ko habang buhay. Nobody can ever replace you.

I love you.
