Just a joke

Pov Dipper

Night and I are waiting for everyone in out usually spot. The piano is out on this stage today. I sit in front of the piano and look at it.

"Woof?"
"Night I can't play." I said.
"Bark!"
"I-I can't, their coming and I don't want then to know." I said.
"Woof?"
"Yes it's because of him, I'll just be a joke." I said.
"Bark...." Night pouted.
"I haven't played since the talent show when I was in the sixth grade. It's been years." I said.
"Ruff!"
"I can't." I said.
"Bark!"

Night presses a key and looks at me. I just look at Night and ignore the note.

"I'm sorry boy, but I-I can't." I said.
"Bark!"

Night presses another key and I just look at him.

"Night you can play if you want, but I'm not. People will take it has a joke, just a joke." I said.
"Mmm?" He presses another key.
"You're going to keep annoying me until I play." I said.
"Ruff!" Night cheerfully barked.

I placed my hands on the keys and looked at Night.

"No matter how hard I try this will still be a joke, I'm just going to be the punchline for a cruel joke." I said.
"Bark bark...."
"Sorry Night, but its true." I said.
"Woof."
"Their coming anyway." I said.

I picked up Night and got off the bench. Night kept licking my cheek and telling me to play.

"I-I'm sorry, but I just can't." I said.
"Bark."
"Don't sound sad." I said.
"Bark..."
"Hey Dipper." Star said.
"Chirp!"
"Hey everyone." I smiled.
"Night?"

Night jumped out of my arms and ran over to Bill. Night pushed Bill over to me.

"Night leave him alone." I said while picking him up.
"Bark...."
"N-No." I said.
"What is he saying?" Bill asked me.
"He just wants someone to play piano." I said.
"That's cute." Lady Widow said.
"Bark!"
"I wouldn't mind hearing him play, it's been a while." Pyronica said.
"It has been a while." Eight-ball said.
"I'm up for Bill playing." Keyhole said.
"Bark!"
"Night it's going to play, just calm down for a little." Andrew said.
"He's probably just excited." Paci-fire said.

Bill goes to the piano and starts to play a soft melody.

"Bark..."
"I haven't played in a while." Bill said.
"In two days." Will said.
"Yeah, that's a while for me." Bill said.
"Pup is just amazing." Star said.
"Pup does his own little dances." Lady Widow said.
"I wonder if Night over their can howl a few tones." Pyronica said.
"That would be cool." Andrew said.
"Bark!"
"N-No Night." I said.

Night went over to Pup and they started to talk to each other. They both look at me and pure fear comes.

"Chirp." Pup leaves Star shoulder and pulls my sleeve.
"Bark!" Night pulls my shoe laces.
"What's wrong with them today?" Paci-fire said.
"Pup leave Dipper alone." Eight-ball said.
"Do you want something from him?" Keyhole asked.
"Chirp!"
"Bark!"
"Just nod yes or no." Will said.

They just kept making their animal noises.

"Night enough." I said.
"Bark...."
"They just want attention." Bill said.
"Pup come on." Star said.
