It had been maybe 15 minutes before I heard footsteps ascending the stairs. During those 15 minutes, I scream every insult I could think of at his Navy duvet. I've never been so infuriated in my life. If there was one thing I surely didn't do in the bedroom that was humiliation this was definitely going too far. This is not what I signed up for, I signed up for inebriated sex with that a****** of a man not for him to take out his weird sadistic tendencies on me. Idiot. When has drinking ever ended well for me? What had I expected? For him not to be a dick? Not to be creepy?

"Uuuuugh" groaning I let my face fall into the duvet. The door creeks, open. Braxton walks in a coffee mug in his handbook under his arm.

"Aaaaah she's finally done with the awful language,  you know that sort of thing doesn't suit such a meak girl." Turning my head I glare at him.

"You're a sick bastard I couldn't help but tell you." He smiles at this, a flick of fire in his eyes.

"Now now that's no way to talk to the man with the keys."

"What's your problem?" I spit out.

"Your attitude would be one, now little girl your my wife to be and you have to learn your lesson disrespect is not tolerated or forgotten," He sips his coffee and moves around to a table and chair next to the windows on the far side of his room. Setting the book down he takes a seat. I glare, here I am bent over and he's just lounging, the gal.

"What a croc this isn't the 1950's respect is earned and mutual."  My disdain for this man grew with every word out of his mouth.

"See now that's where your wrong we aren't equal Violet this isn't an ordinary relationship, your not my companion you are my property. I don't have any particular interest in you other than well that cute little rump and pouty lips. I'm not interested in your personality, what books you've read, what places you've visited. I am helping you and your family far more than you are helping me. Honey all that your doing is ensuring I will receive the head position in my father's enterprise when he retires in a few years. You're here to show him I've grown that I've matured I'm dependable stable obviously if I'm ready to settle down. You could try to say that this is a mutually beneficial arrangement but in the long run, you're more like a parasite and I'll let you drain away my money to stay around just to avoid the drama of a divorce in this day in ages media." Another sip he owns his book. My chest collapses, my value issues rush up to the surface. Worthless floats to the front of my mind. All the anger leaves me and again I am broken inside. Who was I to think I'd ever been anything more than a nuisance to those around me. A purposeless lump of flesh.

"So that's why I'm like this? So you can punish me for hating this arrangement, for being generally repulsed by your personality?" My shoulders slump in defeat.

"I suppose so, and until you learn to shut that pretty little mouth you'll stay just like that."

This is too much this is all too much. My next breath came in shaky, my chest quivering. A twinge in my face and then they came, the all too familiar warmth of my hot tears. It wasn't long before I was in a full sob. I didn't even notice over my hiccups that Braxton had come over. He unlocked me and I fell to the floor.

"Go home I think you've learned something today." Throwing my dress to me before leaving the room again. I had definitely learned something today. Happiness would never be for me. Standing up I slipped back into my dress, sniffling I made my way to the front door. Braxton was nowhere to be seen and I was glad for that.  Stepping into the chill night it hit me, how am I going to get home! Legs wobbly I lowered myself onto the steps.

"Ms? Shall I call you a car?" an older gentleman asked from behind me.

"Yes, yes please." I didn't look up at him I didn't want anyone to see me, see my sadness see my shame.

"Don't worry about it, Leo I've got it pull my car around."

"Hey, you ok Violet?" Braydon's soothing voice drifted down to me. All I could manage was to shake my head no as I started crying again. Sitting next to me he started to rub my back, how is that bastard related to someone like Braydon? You could literally feel the good seeping from his soul.

"Would you like a hug?" Nodding yes he pulled my curled up body into his as his car came

"I don't know what happened tonight but you'll get through this, now let's get you home." Helping me up he walked me down to his car. Leo was holding the door open and I just curled up on the seat.
