The young boy tears down the streets of Castelia city with tears streaming down his face as he carries his extremely injured shiny Axew in his arms. It is midnight and pouring rain, a very dangerous time to be out at in the city, but he had to get away from his monstrous parents...
Ever since he was five, Benjamin knew he could talk to Pokemon. They sounded like they were speaking English to him and each of them had their different independent voices. But when he had told his parents this, they thought he was insane. So each night they would take his shiny Axew Max away from him so he couldn't talk to him. But little did Benjamin know what his parents did to the poor Dragon-type at those times... They would hurt him and torcher him until they had had their fun. But too scared to tell Benjamin, Max would put up with it as much as he could. Until Benjamin walked in on his parents abusing Max with their fists, the poor Pokemon far too terrified to fight back... Benjamin then had run, escaping with Max out a window.
"I'm going to get help, Max! I promise! Please stay with me!!!" Benjamin whispers as Max just is able to turn his head to look at Benjamin's face. Too weak to answer verbally, Max just slightly nods, fighting to keep his eyes open. Benjamin pants, slowing down a little as he begins to grow tired. But he pushes on, forcing his wobbly legs to move. But without warning, he trips over a small pebble, falling into the gutter with Max still in his arms. "Ben-Benjamin..." Max whispers. "I'm sorry... You've been the best trainer any Pokemon could've asked for... But now its... This is... Goodbye..." Benjamin watches in horror as his shiny Axew smiles, puts a hand tiny to his own hand then goes limp. "Max?... No no no... Max!!!... Don't do this to me!!! PLEASE!!! NO!!! MAX!!! NO!!!" He cries and shouts, hugging his beloved shiny Axew tightly as the rain gets heavier. But the light in his Pokemon's eyes had dimmed and perished. Max was dead...
Not too far away, a sixteen-year-old boy with dark grey hair wearing a purple jacket with bright blue eyes watches. The boy had just witnessed the entire situation as he hides in the dark. Even though he was the feared one, even though he was the leader of team Haunted Souls, even though he didn't feel sorry for anyone, this particular kid reminded him of himself... When he had lost his own Pokemon, his Gengar... Felix, even though he had murdered countless people and Pokemon and never felt emotion towards it, he felt so very bad for this boy. He stares down at the ground as the entire part of eyes glow red. He had to save this boy's Axew. Felix knew this would mean having to use his powers and would mean making himself known to the boy along with giving himself great amounts of pain... But he couldn't resist...
Benjamin can't do anything but cry and hug his lifeless partner. All he can think of is Max. All he wants is Max... "Hey, you there..." A boy nearby calls to Benjamin. "I think I can help your Axew there..." Benjamin looks up with a tear stained face. He stares at the boy as he notices his eyes are glowing entirely red! Benjamin panics but the boy walks up to him and kneels beside where he was holding Max. "This is only going to work if I can touch your Axew..." The boy mutters. Benjamin, definitely not wanting to turn down anyone who thinks they can help bring Max back, moves his arms away from his Pokemon, placing him gently close beside him. Watching as the boy touches Max, Benjamin can't help but be frightened by the boys red eyes. But as he watches further, something amazing happens. The red from the boy's eyes runs down his face, down his neck, through his shoulder, arm and hand, tips of his fingers and into where he was touching Max. The boy bites down on his jacket while this happens as if he was in pain and was biting down so he couldn't scream. Benjamin glances up at the boy's eyes again and they're an amazing, bright blue. The boy notices this and looks back at him. Benjamin shivers. Something about this boy's stare makes him cold and shudder. "Ben-Benjamin?!..." A familiar voice mumbles quietly. To his amazement, Max is blinking up at him with a smile. Benjamin gasps, tears of happiness forming in his eyes. "Oh, Arceus! Max! You're alive!!!" He cheers as he hugs Max. Max hugs him back, squealing with joy. The boy turns away as he sees this. His work here is done. But he feels Benjamin tap his shoulder as he begins walking off. "Hey! Thank you so much! This means the world to me!" Benjamin beams. The boy nods. Then he realizes something... He could get this boy to join team Haunted Souls!!! "You're very welcome little boy..." His voice echoes throughout the street. "Say... Do you and your Pokemon there have anywhere to go? After all, you don't want to go back to your parents do you?" Max and Benjamin gaze at each other. How did this boy know that? That doesn't matter though... "Uh... No... We don't have anywhere we can stay..." Great! The boy thinks. This boy here would be his second member! "Well... Heres a deal for you... If you join my team, team Haunted Souls, I shall give you everything and anything you need and or want! Shelter, food, warmth, money even revenge on your parents, anything for you and your Axew!!!" Benjamin thinks for a moment before putting his hand out. "It's a deal!" The boy shakes Benjamin's hand. Benjamin flinches a little at how cold the boy's hand is but follows him as he walks off. "I never got your name! What is it?!" Benjamin asks the boy. The boy grins and narrows his eyes as they glow bright blue. "I'm Felix! Felix Haunt! But if you're going to join this team, you must call me Master Felix..." Benjamin nods, not questioning why he had to call the boy Master Felix. "I'm Benjamin and this is Max!" He smiles, indicating to his shiny Axew. Felix looks at him, but this time Benjamin doesn't shiver. "Would you like to be called Benjamin in the team? You may choose any name or keep it as Benjamin..." Benjamin opens his mouth to say he'd keep his name, but something stops him. Benjamin was the name his parents had given him, and anything to do with his parents was a burden... "Call me Turbo!" Benjamin replies. Felix raises an eyebrow. "Turbo? Well then... Welcome to team Haunted Souls Turbo!!!" Felix chuckles. Turbo looks ahead as he remembers something Felix had said. "You said you could help me get revenge on my parents? I'd more than adore that..." Felix looks down at him. "Of course! Your training for that will start once you get comfortable at our base, the Haunted Mansion!" Benjamin goes to ask why he'd need training, but he feels like Felix wouldn't answer that for some reason... "Where is our base?" Turbo decides to ask that instead. "Our base is near a town called Dewtix town. It's a long way from here so we'll have to teleport!" Turbo stares at Felix. "Dewtix town? Teleport?" Felix sighs. "Don't question it... Dewtix town does exist, it's not a myth!" He stops walking. "And yes, we're teleporting! Hold my hand!" Turbo awkwardly does so, and with an odd lurch, they disappear and reappear in purple smoke. Once he gets his bearings, Turbo sees he's standing in front of a huge stone house. "Welcome to the Haunted Mansion Turbo!" Felix exclaims. "Welcome!!!..."
