lara jeans pov:

josh just came over for dinner. i kinda miss him. our friendship has changed ever since he started dating margot. margot's going to college soon and i'm gonna miss her so much.

"LJ!" margot snaps me out of my thoughts as she serves me some food.

"thank you." i smile.

me, my dad, josh, margot and kitty sat at the table eating our food. i was about to day dream again when josh suddenly said "margot, i have a surprise for you."

he handed margot a piece of paper and she smiled and opened it. they were plane tickets. to scotland. margot was going to start college in scotland, so i guess he was going to go with her? i really don't know.

margot cleared her throat "josh. can i talk to you outside after dinner?"

"uh sure." he said nervously.

the rest of the dinner went by slowly and as soon as i was done washing the dishes i ran up to my room to spy on margot and josh's conversation.

"how can you just spring that on me?" margot shouted to josh.

"i'm sorry i thought you would have liked it!"

words were thrown at each other and at the end i heard it. margot said "i'm breaking up with you. i'm sorry. i just can't. it's not this it's that i'm not doing long distance." then she ran back inside the house. i closed the window and sat on my bed as margot cane into my room.

"are you ok?" i asked her.

she nodded "yea i'm ok. it was for the best."
i smile and hold her hand.

"are you ok?" she asked.

"me? why would i not be ok?"

"i'm leaving tomorrow. please take care of eveyone. ok?"

"promise."

"and don't miss me to much."

the next day

"i'm gonna miss you so much." i hug margot tightly.

"you too little sis." she pulls away.

"i guess i gotta go." margot says looking down.

we do one last group hug before she goes inside. i don't know how i'm gonna survive without her.
