Ayy! New chapter! Right so...I totally wasn't watching A Cinderella Story whilst writing this. I'm such a child. Hehe.

Apologies on this being a short chapter.

When I was living with my mom, I never really got into serious trouble. Sure, she shouted at me whenever I came back home late from the library or if I didn't do my homework but she never looked so furious that her head was going to explode. The man in front of me, however, practically has steam blowing out of his ears. His golden eyes glow with fury and a vein on his forehead nearly pops.

"What on earth do you think you're doing?" He asks me in a powerful, angry voice. The hairs on the back of my neck lift up and a bit of arousal courses through my body. Why the hell do I like the sound of his voice? I should be terrified. The way he glares at me is knee wobbling.

When I don't answer, his jaw ticks. Perhaps following his orders and answering his questions would be the best option.

"Answer me!" He booms, catching everyone's attention around us. People stop to stare at him but when they see him, their eyes widen and they scurry off. Is he really that scary that people run off at the sight of him?

"Uh—uh," I stammer, nervously. My teeth nibble on my bottom lip, something that he notices. His golden eyes darken and harden, focusing on my lip. I release it, hoping to put his attention elsewhere. "I—I was just l—leaving."

At my answer, he steps forward. "You were what?"

Oh dear god, he sounds so angry. I think I'm going to die, right here, right now.

"L—leaving. I have been a burden and well, I—I have to—" I stutter in fear, stopping when he's in front of me in a flash. Startled, I step back, my eyes widening. I gulp anxiously, my heart hammering in my chest.

His nostrils flare, "you aren't leaving."

In a quiet voice, I feebly argue back. "But I can."

"You aren't!" He thunders, grabbing my wrist tightly. I yelp in pain and attempt to wrench myself out of his hold. But its useless—he's strong. Tears threaten to escape when I once again come to the realization that I can't leave. It's so unfair!

"Please let me go," I plead, pain laced in my voice. His mind must register how afraid I sound because he lets me go as if my wrist was on fire and stumbles back, his eyes flashing with horror. But before I can read too much into it, his emotions are masked again and he straightens his posture.

I glance at the two people behind him who come closer, worriedly staring at the man. The one with blonde hair flickers his eyes at me and he sends me a small smile, hoping to make me feel better. As sweet as the gesture was, I couldn't feel comfortable.

"Quinn!" Sky's voice shouts behind me, slightly out of breath. I turn to face her. Her flawless face that doesn't show a hint of tiredness heads over to me worry etched on her face. The fact that she doesn't look like she's run a whole hospital corridor annoys the hell out of me. Whenever I run even a short distance, I'm panting like a dog. I really should start working out. "Oh my god, I was so worried about you. God, if Alpha K—" She stops when she catches the people behind me. "Oh sh*t, Alpha I'm so sorry, she just ran off." She bares her neck and apologizes, fear laced in her voice.
