Chapter 4

Charlie's pov

I sat up the next morning not recognising my surroundings at first.
I looked around and remembered we stayed at Lo's. I pulled the blankets back and didn't see Aidan. Normally he would wake me up if he was up first.

"Aidan? Lo?" Climbing out of the bed I put my glasses on and walked to the door.

As I stepped into the hall I could hear giggling and the smell of pancakes filled my senses.

"Not too much! Buzz, you can't have all that chocolate!"

I turned into the kitchen. Aidan was sitting on the counter. A mixing bowl between his legs. Judging by the smell, Lo was teaching him how to make chocolate chip pancakes.

"Mommy" he beamed.

"Good morning you two"

"We're making chocolate chips"

"No, we're making pancakes and you talked me into adding chocolate, you little sneak"

He giggled attempting to mix the batter. It spilled over the sides slightly, dripping on to the counter"

"Did Harry ever show up?"

"Yea. He left early though. He said he needed to change the locks and call the security company"

Aidan watched us, listening to our conversation. I knew he would be curious and start asking questions so it was probably better to distract him with some kids show until we were done. I walked over lifting him from the counter.

"I'm gonna turn on cartoons for him"

"No! I want to make chocolate chips"

"Hey! If you watch cartoons in the living room, I will put extra chocolate chips in your pancakes ok?"

"Okay" he pouted still not happy that he was no longer allowed to make a mess.

Once he was settled, I walked back to the kitchen with Lo. She poured several pancakes into the pan and I leaned against the counter.

"Char everything will be fine. Don't freak yourself out. Harry is taking care of it. He's not gonna let anything happen to you or Aidan"

"Harry's not always with us Lo. I don't want to go back to watching over my shoulder. It's been nearly 3 years. I haven't heard from Liam, Alex, or Gemma"

"Good. It's going to stay that way"

A light knock on the front door ended our conversation.

"I got it" I walked down the hallway unlocking the door. Harry stood in the hall, his phone to his ear. I left the door open so he could come in when he was done.

I walked back over to Lo and picked up a few chocolate chips.

"That's where he gets it from. Your ass is always eating chocolate"

"I'm emotional. Of course I'm eating it" I tilted my head back to drop a few more in my mouth. When I brought my head back down, Harry was in front of me.

"Hey" he breathed before pressing his lips to mine.

"No PDA in my kitchen" Lo swung her spatula at us.

"Let's not talk about what goes on in this kitchen when no one else is around" I rolled my eyes.

"Exactly. It's my kitchen, so I make the rules. Now go fondle each other somewhere else." She stuck out her tongue.
