Ch.1

This is just the starting chapter, and it took a while to get done because of school and I'm a procrastinator. Also AsalAllahverdi told me to tag them in this so here ya go
Everything was black. Pitch black. And cold, so so cold. I walked in one simple direction, scared out of my mind. Why was everything dark?
Where the fuck am I? I was starting to shake at how cold it was, gosh I'm usually never this cold, my element is fire after all!
'Okay Kai, calm down maybe this is just a dream.' I thought using the calming techniques Cole taught me.
Suddenly I saw a light up ahead. I was wary, but then I got the feeling of being watched. I don't know why, but I just started bolting towards the light, my heart pounding. Out of no where a loud laugh started ringing in my ears, and echoed in the dark void. I tried covering my ears to get rid of the terrifying sound, but it wouldn't go away.
"I'm coming for you ninja..." A cold and deep dark voice said, chilling my entire core. "You will have no where to run, no where to hide...YOU WILL PAY NINJA! YOU WILL-"
I woke up to the feeling of someone shaking me. Gasping for air, I lifted my head up and saw a worried Cole. He then wrapped me up in a tight up, and I hugged back.
"Kai oh my God don't ever do that to me again!" Cole shouted angrily, but I know he was just scared.
I was too.
"I-I'm sorry..." I whispered into his neck. Cole sighed and rubbed my back, I relished the warm feeling and closed my eyes.
"You're freezing, Kai!" Cole exclaimed in shock, pulling back from the hug.
I frowned at the loss of contact, but then realized he was right. It was freezing cold in here, and I could tell it wasn't the thermostat out of whack. I pulled the blanket over me and rubbed my arms, hoping to get warm.
"Are you okay?" Cole asked, sitting beside me. I was about to answer, when suddenly I got this huge sneeze. Cole moved out of the way just in time, and I looked up to find him with a look of horror.
"What?" I asked snuffily, feeling clammy.
"Kai I think you're sick." Cole said moving hair out of my face. I groaned, I couldn't get sick! Today was Misumi's third birthday! I just couldn't miss it!
"But Misumi..." I moaned weakly as Cole tucked me in.
"Relax babe," Cole said pecking my forehead. "I'll take care of it don't worry."
No one's POV
Cole could tell his boyfriend wasn't telling him everything. Though he hadn't got a chance to ask after they had found out he was sick.
'But why was his skin ice cold?' Cole wondered as he reached for his keys and headed out the door.
Kai had demanded to be taken to Jay and Nya's house, but Cole simply had said no. He couldn't just walk around as he normally would when sick, and anyone who knew the ninja, definitely knew that Kai hated not doing anything. Cole sighed as he pulled into the driveway, with Nya and little Misumi looking his way. Poor Misumi was probably expecting her uncle Kai, she loved him to death. Cole sighed and stepped out, preparinf for the worst.
"Hey Cole, where's Kai?" Nya asked, looking curiously at the earth ninja.
"He was feeling pretty bad this morning, with sneezing and coughing and all," Cole said sighing and rubbing his neck. "He was pretty upset about it too, but he told me to give Sumi hugs and kisses for him. Not to mention some presents."
"Did you hear that Sumi?" Nya asked her daughter in a cheerful way. "Uncle Cole and Kai got you presents! Ain't that great!"
"Yay!" Misumi screeched in her little toddler voice.
Cole's heart melted at the little girl, an he smiled. Kai definitely spoiled her rotten too, with a bunch of presents in the backseat. Cole wouldn't even be surprised if he spent all their rent money on buying them.
"Wow that's alot of presents," Nya said looking at the boxes in Cole's arms skeptically. "Do you want Jay to help you with those?"
"Nah I got it," Cole said lifting the rest of the boxes up with ease. "Speak of the devil, here he comes now!"
Indeed Jay was walking from his workshop and to the house.
"What's up everyone?" Jay asked, then took Misumi from Nya.
"Daddy!" Misumi exclaimed throwing her hands up in the air.
"Hey there Sumi girl!" At exclaimed excitedly, lifting his daughter in the air. "How's my little three year old?"
She and Jay then began to speak to each other weirdly, and Nya chosen that time to talk to Cole.
"So you left Kai all by himself?" She questioned, knowing all to well what her brother could get to.
Cole scratched the back of his head, blushing a little.
"He was pretty tired, so I doubt he'll be doing anything too big soon." Cole said kicking dust up.
"That my friend, is where you're wrong," Nya said grinning while shaking her head. "C'mon, the others should be here soon so let's get inside."
