Lost in You: Chapter 3
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
Ugh, I thought, could this period be any longer? I’m so hungry I could eat a horse. As my stomach made not such a pleasant sound, confirming just how hungry I was, I felt a blush creep up my neck. Well, that was embarrassing. Maybe nobody heard?
Looking around the room I sighed a sigh of relief. Okay, I managed to make it through the first 4 periods of the day without embarrassing myself. I think that was some sort of record. Well, for me anyway. A cough off to my right brought me out of my dazing, turning my head to the voice, my vision was soon filled with a handsome face with a smirk fitted on some nice full lips. Quickly doing an overlook of the fellow, I noticed he probably wasn’t the best guy to get myself situated with. Decked out in dark skinny jeans, a tight fitting dark blue V-neck, topped off with a leather jacket. Scanning his dark curly hair and dark green eyes, yup, defiantly not the kind of guy I should be talking to. He scream sexy, dark and dangerous; a deadly combination.
Snapping out of my daze blushing, seeing the dark headed stranger raise his eyebrows with his smirk still evident on his lips as he shamelessly gave me a once over. When his eyes came back to meet mine it seemed like he liked what he saw, making me blush even harder.
Keep it together Alex! Stop blushing!
“Uh yes?” I asked nervously playing with a stray piece of my hair, breaking eye contact.
If it was possible he raised his eyebrows even more and spoke in a deep voice.
“Done checking me out?”
Shocked by what his said my eyes widen and I stumbled with what to say. What was I to say? Yes? That would be way to flirty, but it was obvious he knew I has been checking him out, no sense in denying in.
“Don’t worry, I was checking you out too.” Giving me a wink. I blushed, stop blushing Alex! I quickly snagging a piece of my hair, looking down trying to calm my burning cheeks.
“Urm, so uh you wanted something?” I asked, trying to sound cool, but my voice came out higher than I wanted and I winced. I hoped he didn’t notice.
“Well, by the sound your stomach was making I would say you were hungry.” Stopping short of my hair twirling. I looked up to his dark green eyes that were swimming with mystery. Silently cursing myself, I quickly composed myself.
“Oh, you heard that, huh?”
“Heard that? Of course. Anyone with ears would have heard.” His deep rumble of laugh seemed to trigger my annoyance.
“It was not that loud.” I scolded at him.
Apparently amused by my reply, his smirk deepened.
“Sure it wasn’t.”
“Whatever.” I replied curtly, turning around.
I felt a tap on my shoulder but I ignored it, refusing to interaction with such an idiotic character. After about 5 minutes of the annoying poking and 5 pencils that had suddenly broken, a piece of paper hit me in the head non so gently. Scolding to myself, I quickly peeled open the paper, written inside the white likes non so neatly unlike Damien, it read “Jake” and underneath was a surprisingly good drawing of two people shaking.
Crumpling the paper back up, I sneakily swiped the note off my desk and onto the floor. Almost, simultaneously another paper was through at me, this time hitting my arm. ‘Jake’ kept that up for the remainder of the class.
Sighing with relief that class was over, I scooped up all my materials and hurried out of the classroom before that Jake boy could catch up. Halfway down the hall, glancing in all directions I finally decided that Jake was gone.
When I leather clad arm wrapped loosely wrapped around my shoulder, I winced. I spoke too soon.
“Hey baby, didn’t your mom ever tell you it was rude to ignore some?” Jake whispered in my ear, I could practically hear the smirk on his face. Scolded I ducked out of his arm. Crossing my arms, and cocking a hip I replied.
“Didn’t your mom ever tell you about personal space?” Daring him to reply. He smirked down at my 5’5 height.
“I never claimed to listen to my mom.”
“Well, you should.” Turning around I began walking away, hoping he would leave me alone. No such luck, he through his arm around me again.
“Oh come on baby, don’t be like that.” Giving my shoulder a squeeze, that surprising felt very nice. Slapping at his arm I was about to reply, when my eyes caught on Damien’s from across the hall and he didn’t look happy. No he looked furious. Stopping dead in my tracks, I thought about what I could do. Wait why did I even care if Damien was mad? It’s not like we’re dating. Yet a voice whispered in my head. I scolded, no I didn’t like Damien. I have a date with Tyler on Friday!
Looking up at the boy who still had his arm around me I noticed he was grinning and his eyes were shining with something I couldn’t quiet wrap my head around. Turning to see what he was looking at, I saw a furious Damien stomping our way.
Uh oh.
