Holly was grateful to Ben for saving her life from the bully and also angry that he almost killed her. Suddenly she realized it was equal. He was hurt and she was hurt. "Maybe I should go to him and sort things out," she thought.
King Thistle was right. They were going to get married in 2 years and they had changed their minds. But if by 2 years they were best friends again they could have a chance to get married. No, she should go to him. But as she ran down the hall Ben was coming the same way, running really fast. They crashed and landed Holly on top of Ben with a thud.
"Ben,"
"Holly," They said in unison. Holly got up and dusted herself off and Ben picked up his horn. Holly picked up her wand and reached for the bag that fell of the table but another hand was there first. Her hand was on top of his. They did a weird hand thing and Ben somehow picked up the bag and they ran down opposite directions.
"Tell Holly to be there at night in the meadow?" Strawberry clarified. "Yes," Barnaby said. "No problemo," Strawberry said with a smirk.
At night Holly found herself walking in the meadow when she saw a shadow coming from the other side. She pulled out her wand. "Wand, give me light." Holly said. She saw Ben advancing towards her. "Ben?" Holly said. "Yes princess?" Ben said. "What are you doing here?" She asked. "Coming to see you," Ben said. "And what particular reason have you come to see me for?" Holly asked curiously. "To give you this," Ben said as he handed her a rose. Holly was shocked. She was glad the moon wasn't bright or Ben would see the crimson in her cheeks. She smelled the flower and it squirted water at her. Ben laughed. "What was that for!" Holly yelled. "Happy Elf Joke day!" Ben said. "The sky is black but it is actually day."
Holly looked around and suddenly she saw lots of people coming out to see the black sky. Mr.Elf pulled a lever and the light sky came out. They went back in their homes. He handed her a telescope and she looked through it. Suddenly she realized she fell for one of his tricks. He fell down laughing. "Hey!" She said. She put her wand out but Ben stopped her. "I'm sorry. Here, have a rose." He said. "And it's not a trick?" She asked. "It's not." Ben ensured her. She grabbed the rose from his hand and checked for any bits of bobs that might do something. Nothing. She smelled the rose and realized it's not a rose, it's the Holly he smelled yesterday. "Thank you," She said. "My pleasure princess," he said with a bow. He walked back to the Great Elf Tree. "Wait!" Holly shouted. He turned to look at her. He wasn't expecting her to look him in the eyes. "I have something too." She said and handed him a box. He opened it up and couldn't believe his eyes. She had brought him the ultimate sports set! He had wanted this for years. He didn't know what to say to her. "I-I'm really g-grateful of you Holly." Ben said. Holly was happy but also shocked. He had not called her Holly for a long time. He beamed at her. She smiled and flew away. He couldn't wait to do something with this stuff.
