Mario woke up with a start. The first thing he noticed was that he was in a dark cell. What had happened? Where was the princess?. Mario struggled to his feet. His sore body threatening to collapse beneath him. He stumbled to the bars and looked down the hallway. It was clear that Bowser had captured him.
Just as Bowser entered his thought, he also entered the hall. "Mariooo," he menacingly called out. Bowsers heavy footsteps rumbled the floor and walls in the cell. "I see you're awake, Mario." Mario stepped back into the dark cell. He hasn't felt this afraid in a long time, and he wasn't ready for another battle with Bowser.
"What are you doing Bowser? Where's the princess?" Mario shouted. A rage suddenly taking over. He slammed against the bars, causing Bowser to chuckle. The rage subsided and Mario stepped back once more. Bowser reached the bars. Then he nodded his head towards the gate. A koopa soldier stepped forward and unlocked it.
"The princess wasn't our target this tine, Mario." Bowser growled. Then Bowser swung a giant fist that collided with Mario's head, knocking him out cold. "Bring him to my room." Bowser ordered as he turned and left. Four koopas rushed into the cell, and shackled Mario's unconscious body.
