"Sawyer! Come on already we're going to be late!" my brunette friend, Joie, called after me.
"I'm coming!" I yelled back then hung up the phone. I just needed to put the finishing touches on my hair, and I would be ready for our double date. I was going with the hottest guy at Lincoln High, and Joie was going with her jerk-off boyfriend. I had been waiting for this day since Greg asked me if I wanted to get some pizza last Friday. Well now it was this friday, and I was getting pizza with Greg, and Joie and her stupid boy toy.
I was just a normal girl, living in Lynchburg, Virginia during 1976. I was popular. I had dark brown (almost black) hair and deep blue eyes. Every boy lusted after me, I already knew that, but one boy in particular always caught my attention. Greg.
He picked me up at my house around 7:30, and we were going to meet the others there.
"You look so beautiful, Sawyer. I'm the luckiest guy in the world tonight." he was the sweetest guy I've ever met.
"Oh, and is it okay if it's just you and me tonight? Joie and Matt kinda flaked out and said to meet them at his house when we're done." he smiled.
"Of course that's okay," I gently said. "and this is my first date, like ever, so I'm sorry if I'm a little nervous."
"Sawyer, don't fret it's my first date too." he half whispered.
"Groovy!" I chuckled.
After our date, we headed over to Matt's house.
"Hey man, my parents aren't home for the week, so I got the house to myself!" Matt said excitedly while he held up a clear bag.
"Weed?" I whispered to myself. I didn't want to get high because my mother had always told me not to. She said it was very addictive.
We all got high as a kite anyway.
"Matt? Don't you have that Ouija board?" Joie asked. I was surprised, because our mom always told us never to play with those things. That they were evil and dangerous.
"Joie, our moms always told us not to play with those, remember?" I told her.
"Ugh, Sawyer stop being such a tight ass." Matt was annoyed. I didn't want to be the prude, so I broke another one of my moms rule.
I regret that most in my life.
