I'm sick and tired so I decided to update.
Neah knocked on Road's door to receive no answer. He sighed and opened it anyway, to see Teez and Road sitting on the bed, seeming to be either talking with their minds, or having a staring contest. They both blinked and looked up at him as he walked in. Road smiled and waved.
The man tilted his head. "Road. Can I ask you something?"
The girl nodded and got up, walking over to a desk and getting paper and a pencil, then going to sit in a bean bag on the other side of the room, which was surrounded by lit candles. Neah grabbed the chair from the desk, pulling it over and sitting in front of her. Teez scurried over and sat in his lap.
Neah wrapped his arms around him and looked up again at the expectant Road. He sighed, knowing he had to choose his words carefully. "So.. How have you and the rest of the family been?" He asked, making sure to give her a wide range of subjects to bring up.
Road tilted her head and began writing, before showing it to him. 'Not too well, truthfully. Wisely's been pretty sick. He sleeps a lot. Tyki's even worse. I think he's ill, both physically and mentally. Adam hasn't left his room, and Toraido seems to be the only one who's pretty much okay. He tells me he likes me help and company, though, since we seem to be the only stable ones. And I guess he already told you about Cyril.' She didn't meet his eyes as she took the paper back.
Neah sighed, not sure what to say next if he didn't want to upset her. "How have you been, then? Since the incident with Cyril?" He asked finally.
This time, Road sighed, her breath shaky, before she began to write. After a while, she handed it to him. 'It's definitely not easy to handle. The situation with Tyki just makes it worse. He's convinced his brother's still alive. Both me and Torai agreed that we can't tell him the truth, because then he may just get depressed. So we have to keep his fantasy alive. It was a really quiet day... Mostly everyone was sleeping or by them self. But Torai wanted me to take some food to Cyril.. But, when I knocked on his door, he didn't answer. I opened the door, and.. There he was. He was simply.. Hanging there... His eyes were wide in terror, his mouth hanging open, and blood all over his face.. The rope around his neck was pulled tight, and the chair kicked away. There was a lot of blood in a pool below him. I yelled for help, and Torai and Teez came. I couldn't even watch them get the body down and take it away. I sat by the door for who knows how long, until Tyki came. I told him what happened, but.. All he did was smile and ask that I was just having a nightmare. That Cyril was still alive and only sleeping. If he was only trying to comfort me, he wouldn't have smiled like that. He truly believed his own words. After that, I blacked out, and woke up a few days later with Torai taking care of me. I tried to talk, but for some reason, I couldn't. I haven't been able to since. Tyki was the last one to hear me.'
Neah heard her soft, quick breathing as he finished, and felt Teez get up. He looked up as the boy walked over to Road to hug her. The small Noah looked afraid and freaked out. Could she have been reliving that day in her head? Neah sighed and got up to lift them into his arms. They were both light and small. He sat on the bed as Road fell asleep almost instantly. He sat her down and covered her up. His hand lingered over her head for a moment before he pet her for a moment.
He stood, Teez clinging his neck, as he wanted to be carried. The Noah put him higher on his back and walked out of the room. This was going to be much harder than he thought.
Ok I wrote this story a while ago and am copying it from my notebook. And am realizing how bad it is. I'm probably discontinuing it. So bye bye.
