Introductions.............

Nat sat outside at the pavement and read her younger sister's text. She smiled at the 'love you text' May had sent her. She loved nothing in this world like she loved May, and as much as she would love to see her sister, she also knew she had to get her sister out of there because her parents could simply let her die of neglect... So instead of wallow in the grieve she felt, she simply sent her sister a 'love you too' text.
"Hi" someone said from behind her. She turned and for a moment was taken aback by how good looking the guy was with his chestnut colored hair and beautiful blue eyes. When she discovered she had been staring, she felt the blood rush into her cheeks and it only got worse when she saw the smirk on his face. He knew she had been checking him out. Not being one to shy away from things, she managed a small smile
"Hey" she said.
"Can I sit with you? "He asked
"Sure" she made room for him and he made himself comfortable.
"I saw your little talk with the other girl" he grinned " it was out of this world "
Nat's blush deepened. If she had known someone this cute had been watching her, maybe she would have behaved herself........ Or not. The girl was a bitch, she couldn't help herself. So she gave him a small smile
"Thanks. Anyway, she totally deserved it"
" So, do you do that all the time? " he asked, intrigued
" do what? " she asked, completely confused
"Blush like that. Its really pretty "
Nat blushed even harder which made him laugh. He held out his hand
" I'm Flynn by the way"
She shook his hand
"Natalie "
"So Natalie, do you mind me asking why you are here in the middle of nowhere this summer? "
She nodded " need to be on my own"
"Oh, OK" Flynn said "Anyway my grandma owns the place.... OK, not really my grandma, sort of my grandma's best friend "
"Wow" Nat said. "I think its pretty cool that you know your grandma's best friend "

finn shrugged "its really not that cool, she's just a mum i never had"

"yeah, isn't that what makes it super exciting? having a mum is pretty cool, you know"

he studied her for some time, then said

"that statement just got me really curious, but I think it would really be awkward if i asked about it, so i'm just gonna let it slide"

she nodded "that would be nice"

he stood up "it was really nice meeting you Natalie"

"oh just call me Nat"

he smiled "ok, Nat, see you around?"

"Ya, see you around "

Nat definitely felt like she had made a new friend... And a gorgeous one at that. That was a good thing. Not like she needed friends or anything. She wasn't even a very social person and she needed to pay absolute attention to making enough money to get her sister out of that hell hole, but she definitely wanted to have someone to say hi to once in a while, so yeah, Finn was a friend. She was still thinking about Finn when another voice interrupted her
" uhmm..... Hi? "
She turned to her left and smiled
"Oh, hi. I know you, you were the one that girl was screaming at"
He smiled
"Yes, she was almost killing me back there"
Nat laughed
"Then its a good thing I came along. I Natalie by the way " she said holding out her hand.
He took it
"Jake. We already did the introductions,but its nice to meet you anyway. Can I sit? "
"Yeah, sure"
He sat down
"Thanks for speaking out for me back there. I swear girls are so confusing sometimes.... No I take that back. Girls are so confusing all the time "
Nat laughed.
"You actually have a sense of humor. That's nice. But really I know her type, bossy cheerleader who has never been talked back to in her whole existence "
He looked at her intensely.
"And what type of girl are you? "
I'm just a normal girl who doesn't take shit from anybody. Nobody bosses me around "
Jake nodded.
"That's a good thing "he said, then
"if I ask why you are here, would it be a too personal question? "
"Usually, the answer to that question would have been a yes, but I'll answer you cause" she shrugged "I like talking to you. My parents are fucked up and I need to become independent of them so I can give my sister a good life. What about you? "
"I needed somewhere secure to live in. You see, I've got to make my own decisions because while you have parents, even if they are very shitty ones, I have no one but myself "
"Oh"Nat said awkwardly. They were silent for a while, then asked
"Why do I have a feeling you feel sorry for me? You don't have to be. "he laughed "I've lived with it my whole life"
Nat smiled
"OK, then. " she stood up "it was really nice talking to you, but right now I need to go call my sister, so talk later?"
"Ya, talk later "
As Nat walked into the house she thought to herself two cute friends in one day? That was awesome!
