Chapter 27

Elna p.o.v

"Elna!" I ignored them as I kept staring with a cold, hard glare full of pain and misery at my brother.

"Lis-" But Nathan was cut off once again by a slap, I took out my gun and pointed it to his head,

"Elna listen! This isn't going to help," Said my dad, but that was the last draw to make me snap,

"If you don't like what I'm doing, then leave, but you will not tell me what to do, especially now."

The room went silent as I turned back to my brother,

"What is Lizzy's real name?"

"Elizabeth,"

"What was my first present from you, and how old was I?"

"It was a keyboard, and you were eleven,"

"What's your real name?" He hesitated but continued,

"Nathan Anderson White,"

"Why..." I struggled to ask the next question. The unshed tears in my eyes didn't make anything easier either,

"Why did you leave me?" I asked, my voice suddenly low and sad,

He didn't answer and looked at the ground,

"Answer me dammit!" I said and pressed the gun harder against his temple,

"Why did you pretend to die? Why did you leave me and Liz? Were you that mad and disappointed in me?"

"I wasn't mad or disappointed in you, it wasn't your fault!"

"Then why! Why put me and Lizzy through that pain? Why leave us after looking out for us for so long? Why make us break down? Your sisters!" I yelled holding back tears,

"To protect you, Elna!" He yelled back, looking up at me,

"I ALMOST DIED! NOT JUST IN THE ACCIDENT OR BECAUSE I BELIEVED YOU WERE DEAD, BUT BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE THAT WEREN'T EVEN MY REAL PARENTS! SO DID ELIZABETH! WE RAN AWAY TO STAY ALIVE! WE FEARED FOR OUR LIVES AND YOU DISAPPEARING DIDN'T HELP!"

"Elna, I'm sorry, but it was for your own good,"

"Did you know that they weren't our parents?"

"Yes,"

"Are we even related?"

"Yes, of course,"

"How?" Nathan sighed and looked me in the eyes,

"Your mom-our mom, she got involved with Jack, your father a few years ago. She claimed that they fell in love and later on they got married. She found out about Jack's gang involvement and wanted in on it. She had an affair with your dad's enemy and fell pregnant with me. She fell in love with him, but it wasn't a healthy relationship especially because she was cheating on her husband," He said looking at Jack with sympathy knowing that he didn't have any knowledge about this, but he continued,

"She couldn't decide between the two of them. Later she fell pregnant with you and Lizzy after she realized that she had made a mistake and thought it would keep her and Jack together. But when Maddie found out she was pregnant, they found out as well and kidnapped her knowing it would affect Jack and get his chance at getting back at Maddie. When you and Lizzy were born, she decided to keep you two with me and kill her as soon as they took you." He finished. There was silence for a few seconds when Jack walked out of the room, slamming the door behind him. Rob knows that he needed space, so he left him to go and cool down,

It took me a moment to process the information, but as soon as I did I fumed even more. Trying to keep my emotions in check I asked him, "What did you want to protect me from when you faked your death?" I asked still not lowering the gun from his temple,

"Arno and his plans. He had terrible plans, plans that would have caused you to hate me, plans that could have gotten you killed, and plans that would have gotten you involved with gangs. Some of the worst gangs you could imagine, Elna. I didn't want you involved in that."

"Gangs? Are you serious, dude? You missed out on a lot, didn't you?" Daniel asked, speaking for the first time,

Nathan gave him a curious yet worried look, "What do you mean?"

"Are you familiar with Black Shadow?"

"Yes, who isn't. It's people like her that I wanted to protect Elna from," Daniel gave him an 'are you serious' look before bursting out with laughter. I smirked at the thought that my own brother being afraid of me.

When Daniel calmed down he said, "Elna won't need protection from her,"

My brother raised an eyebrow at both of us and slowly asked, "And why not?"

"I am Black Shadow, you doof. Did you lose your ability to think over the years?"

His face paled and his breathing stopped, "You? The girl that's scared of spiders, is one of the most feared gang leaders?"

I rolled my eyes and lowered my gun, putting it away.

"Could you please untie me? My wrists are getting sore, they tied me up pretty good,"

"How do I know that you won't just disappear again?"

He contemplated for a few seconds before answering, "Because I know that my sisters can look after themselves. And it could be because there are rumors that if you cross the infamous Shadow she will kill them?" He said with a sheepish grin, I laughed and went to untie him.

After the rope dropped to the ground my phone started ringing.

"Hello?" I answered without looking at the caller ID,

"Elna? Hi, I um...I have some news on your sister's location,"

My breathing hitched, ignoring the worried looks that the boys gave me, so I turned my back on them,

"What did you find?"

"She is in...she's in the same place he took you last time, Elna,"

"Are you joking?"

"No,"

"Alright, thank you, make sure no one can track it back to you, bye," I said and hung up.

"What was that about?" Daniel asked when I turned back around to face them,

"I know where my sister is,"
