Today would the weekend I would be Ottawa. After getting the news I that I'm apart of Simon Cowell's new boyband things have been changing faster than I would have expected. I mean I just finished my last day of high school yesterday. People were coming in getting ready to tell us about the college life. I laughed at all the stressed faces I saw because I don't have to do any of that. But I didn't think about all the people I would miss from school. Like my best friend Sachi. I would be leaving her behind.
Sachi and I have been friends since the 8th grade. Sachi was my first big crush that I had. But I could never tell if she liked me back. Everyone would say we could be a cute couple. I would have asked her a long time ago if she liked me but you know I didn't want to face rejection so I kept my feelings to myself.
But in honor of me leaving this weekend I invited her to come iceskating like we did when we were younger.
Once mom dropped me off at Blue Rink, thankfully I had my old hockey skates in the car so I wouldn't have to pay the extra 3 dollars for rental skates. Once I paid for entrance I was putting on my skates just looking around at people. The people falling and the ones who could skate. I feel like I'm going to be falling, I haven't been to the rink in years. I've been focusing on music lately.
Checking my phone it was 2:30 and I had 30 minutes before time Sachi is supposed to arrive. That would be enough time to practice and learn the ropes of the skate again.
*Tiny Time Skip*
After I few laps around the rink I realize that I might have been a little rusty but I was still decent. Which was good enough for me.
~Sachi~
Finally after finding a parking spot at Blue Rink the smell of must hit me in my face. I scrunched up my face, my did Zion choose to go to Blue Rink. Getting my ticket for my rental skates I saw Zion doing a few laps around the rink. He was a little wobbly but he was going kinda fast.
Going to the rail of the rink, I yelled out his name.
"ZION!"
He looked at me and lost balance falling right on his butt. I couldn't help myself but laugh. It was like one of their slow-motion falls.
Zion slowly got back up rubbing his back in pain. "Why, Sachi just why?"
"Well how else was I going to make my entrance known." I said stepping on the ice. I was a little wobbly but Zion held my waist helping me gain balance. My hands just happened to be resting on shoulders and the height different caused me to look up towards him. It was the awkward moments like these that I wish didn't happen. But it would have to remain this way because Zion probably sees me as another friend or another sister.
"C'mon now so I can beat you in a race." I said laughing.
"Well let me crush your dreams real quick. I may be rusty but I can and will beat you in a race." Zion said.
"1"
"2"
Zion counted down.
"CHEESECAKE!" Zion shouted and I jumped.
"Cheater alert! Cheater! Cheater! Pumpkin Eater!" Zion yelled. I rolled my eyes at him, he's so annoying.
"3!" Zion said dashing.
"Ugh not fair." I said trying to catch up with him.
*After Race*
"Bow down to your King." Zion said flexing.
"You only won because you caught me off guard." I said defended myself.
"Well as the winner it's only fair that you buy me a victory snack from the snack bar.
"Fine."
"Alright so I want a cherry-lime slushie, fries, and chocolate chip cookie." Zion ordered at the front.
"Dang Zion how much sugar do you need." I said pulling out my wallet. But I stopped when I saw him reach in his back pocket. Is he about to pay for the food? I thought to myself. How sweet.
"Sachi what are you doing go ahead and pay." Zion said pulling out his phone.
Sweet moment ruined.
~Zion~
Once Sachi paid for my food, we joked and played around. Just having a good time, when I got a text message from mom.
Mom💓: Hope you guys are finished we have to start packing for your flight tomorrow.
That kinda kinda put a damper on my mood.
"Time to go huh?" Sachi questioned.
Mom💓: I'm outside
"Yeah." I said packing up my trash.
"Well, Zion when you become all famous don't forget about lil ole me here in Ottawa. And you better visit." She said giving me a bear hug.
"Sachi, I don't know if you know but your hugs squeeze the life out of my at times." I said rubbing my arms.
"Anyway I gotta go Sachi but imma miss you. I will visit promise." I said walking out of Blue Rink leaving my crush and best friend.
