*Edwards P.O.V*

"We need to talk" I said staring intensely at Kayla. I knew she had free periods on Friday and I knew she always spent them here. No I'm not a stalker.

She started walking off without saying a word.

"Double k please just hear me out it wasn't what it looked like I'm sorry" I said sincerely, she wouldn't believe me I know but i will keep trying because micheal was right, I have developed feelings for her.

"I wouldn't believe a single word you say or that you're sorry" she began
" I saw what I saw and there's no need for you to explain your self really" She whispered trying to walk away from me.
" you don't owe me anything Edward, I'm not your girlfriend or twin or anything of that sort, it's you I pity really"

The thing is I pity me too, yes she doesn't owe me anything but I really am sorry.

"Wait please"I said as she moved away

"No" I said moving backwards as he reached out to grab my arm

"Back off man" I heard micheal say from behind me.
He's gonna kill me but that can wait
I watched her loosen her grip of my hand and took of running.

If only she would just listen,if only she would have just waited for me to explain.

She dived into the water without hesitation as we ran after her, I dived into the water after her to notice she was bleeding and was unconscious.
What have I done?
I quickly took her out and called 911

Few minutes later they came by

"Edward" micheal called after me when I tried entering the ambulance.

"I don't think you'll be the one she wants to see when she's up,let Alex go" he said folding his arms

"Oh he's not going no where alright" Alex said pushing me with her shoulders as she walked past me.

"I'm gonna fix it this time man" I said looking at micheal "and this time I'll let her know about my feelings"

"As if that'll will solve anything" Alex said scoffing as she tried holding a whimper " she just caught you with her evil step sister, for Christ sake didn't watch Cinderella at all"

"Good luck man" micheal said walking past me as I followed suit and sat in the ambulance.

The ride to the hospital was silent, micheal was staring at me intensely as Alex kept sobbing.

We got to the hospital and Kayla got quickly rushed inside. Even in her present state, she still looked beautiful, so beautiful.

Alex called her dad as we patiently waited for his wrath.

"Where is she?" Kayla's dad screamed walking in "who did this to her, what happened to her? Alexx" Mr koffman asked looking worried.
"Sir I can explain" Alex said walking towards him red eyed already as she glanced towards me.

This is it, she was going to give me out.

She looked away and took a deep breath and then settled her hands on he's shoulders

"She had a free period and she told me she was going to the library" she started off as I let a deep breath I didn't know I was holding "I wish I followed her, I'm so sorry sir" she finished off as he pulled her into a hug.

"Edward, you're here too?" Mr koffman asked after letting Alex go.

Oh sir, if only you knew.

"Yes I am, I'm so sorry" I said with restraint trying my best not to rant.

"You better be" Alex said without looking up.
I really did fuck up.

"So uhm, any news from the doc yet?"micheal whizzed In saving me and dropping the snacks he got. My personal guardian angel.

"Yeah have you?" Mr koffman asked

"Nope, not at all" I answered swiftly

"Oh, then I need to make some urgent calls to her mum" he began pulling out his phone "and your mum too Alex" he said finally dailing the number.

"Oh no, don't tell my mum" Alex began looking alerted.

"No darling" mr koffman said cutting her of "I want to let her know I won't be picking kim up anytime soon"

"You guys, I just got Alex text, where is she?" Dan began barging into the waiting room.

"You bastard" dan began walking towards me but then micheal faked cough to get Daniels attention so he could see that her FATHER is here.

"Where have you been" dan said adjusting his tune as he stood still at a spot.

A silent moment passed as we turned to peek at mr koffman who must have been obviously suspicious of what was happening.

Yaup he totally bought it.

"I need to talk to you" micheal said from behind me.

I didn't really escape my friends wrath then.

"In private" he added in what was like a whisper

"We'll Be back in a minute" I said getting up from the chair I was sitting on.

"I hope not" Alex said rolling her eyes then turning to look at me koffman "trust me, I wouldn't want to wake up to that face"

"Me neither" dan added

"Is everything ok?" Mr koffman asked looking confused as micheal shot Alex a and micheal a glare.

"Personal joke, we do it all the time" Alex said as mr koffman nodded.

"You know I told you this was going to happen, it happened and then you go to have sex with Lenny?" Micheal began "didnt I teach you anything"

"Man it didn't happen, we didn't do anything" I started

"You know what? You really don't owe me any explanation, you owe her, I warned you Edward, I warned you" micheal said with a disapproving look "when she wakes up I expect you to fix what ever it is you've done, and I hope she forgives you because I swear I wouldn't have" with that he walked if but stooped mid way and added "don't let her go"

This time I wasn't going to, I don't care how much she'll struggle out of my grip but this time I wouldn't.

I followed micheal back into the waiting room.
It has been two hours and none of the doctors was being responsive even after asking multiple times.

"So the dance has been moved" dan said probably trying to cheer us up

"That is very convenient" micheal said probably trying to lit the moment up as I followed suit

"When?"

"When what edward?" Dan answered very uninterested

As usual micheal stepped in "is the dance for Gods sake"

"Oh, it's on" Daniel started but was being cut of by the doctor.

"Ms Kayla koffman family please"

"That is me" Alex answered standing up with hope in her eyes " I mean this is us"

"I'm really sorry, really really sorry"
