>Payson's POV<
I'm an idiot. I should not have told this man my real name. What if he turns out to be a stalker and tries to kill me. "I'm so screwed," I scream into my pillow.
"Ding, ding!"
3The4Man5-That's a cute name. I like the name Payson. It's not common name around here where I live.
Jockynerd101-Thank you. It's not that common here either!! I think my parents are crazy for naming me Payson.
3The4Man5- So what brought you to use this site?
Jockynerd101- Well it may sound a bit silly, but my best friend made me try it out. She thinks I have no social life and that I am doomed to be alone forever.
3The4Man5- haha that's funny.. well I'll text you in a bit I need to go do something.
Jockynerd101- Oh okay just text me later then I guess.
Looking at my clock seeing that is 5:00pm. I get up to get ready for dinner. I go to my closet to look through the many clothes that I have and end up picking out a nice white shirt with rhinestones around the collar and some black skinny jeans with a pair of white flats that have a black bow on the toe. I always hate having to dress up for dinner in my own house, but my mom is always having people over. Probably to shove it in their face that we are the "perfect family." My mom informed me this morning that she was having an old friend from college come to visit. So I had to dress and look my very best and at least try my hardest.
After getting dressed, I walk into my bathroom to apply a little mascara and concealer while waiting on my curling iron to heat up. Seeing that the light turned green on my iron, I start curling my hair in light curls. When I'm finished, I stand in front of my full body length mirror and analyze my work. Well, it's as good as it's going to get.
"Payson! It's time to come down stairs," my mother yells.
Walking out of my room I make sure to leave my phone on charge and close my door. When I reach the bottom of the stairs into the foyer, I hear a knock on the door.
" I got it!!" I yell
As I open the door, I see a tall man around the age of my dad, standing beside what looks like he could be his son. The older gentleman had brown hair that was turning gray. The younger boy standing beside him looked around my age and had blond hair with blue eyes. Before I am able to say a word, my mom walks up beside me and smiles.
"Mason! How lovely to see you. It's been too long my old friend," my mom cheerily announces as she hugs and kisses him on the check. "Welcome to the Taylor household. I hope your drive went smoothly," opening her arms as though she's showing off some masterpiece. "And you my dear must be the famous Lucas. You're as handsome as your father once was," she winks towards the taller man that she called Mason.
I shift my weight, feeling a little awkward.
"Oh! Where are my manners, forgive me. This is my beautiful and talented daughter, Payson," my Mom states proudly.
And action...
"Hi, it's so nice to get to meet you both. Welcome to our lovely home. I hope your stay is joyful and filled with memories you will cherish." I reach my hand out to shake Mason's hand then I shake his son's, Lucas. "You are in luck my mom made her special dish tonight."
"Great because I'm starving!" Lucas comments smiling at me.
"Easton! Issac! Dinner is done" Mom yells towards the stairs. When she sees Easton and Isaac coming towards the stairs, she turns and looks at the rest of us. "Let's go eat!"
Everyone headed to the dining room and took their seat. Mom sat at the end of the table and my father on the opposite end. I sit in the middle of the table, and watch as everyone as they take their seat.
"Do you mind if I sit here?" Lucas asks sliding out the seat.
"No. I don't mind" I smile and take a good glance at him. "You seem familiar, do I know you from somewhere?" I ask kinda nervously trying not to seem to weird.
"Well, since you asked sweetheart, Lucas also went to Cornell for that special week," Lucas's Dad boasts obviously very proud of his son.
"Oh wow that's great! You never told me that, Mason," my mom states slightly upset.
I smile when I see the kitchen maid start to bring out the food and places everything where it goes.
"Everyone please grab hands and let's bow our heads to pray," my father commands.
I look across from me and see Isaac staring at me questionly. Looking to my side unsure about holding hands with someone i just met. I see that Lucas has his hand open for me to grab. I blush and put my hand into his very warm hand. After my Dad finishes we let go and start eating. After dinner, I was taking my plate to the kitchen when Lucas stopped me.
"Hey Payson. I was wondering if you want to exchange numbers. We could maybe talk about Cornell and we can study together sometime" he smiles, asking confidently.
"She's good. Thanks though," I hear Isaac say trying to intimidate Lucas.
I give Isaac an ugly look and reach out my hand towards Lucas. "Here give me your phone, I'll put it in there for you." I smirk and look towards Isaac. He hands me his phone and I type in my number and hand it back to him. "Keep in touch."
"I'll message you later, okay." He smiles brightly.
"Okay." I say watching as he heads towards the door.
"Don't talk to him." Isaac demands giving me an icy glare.
"I don't take orders from you. I can talk to whoever I want. Just because you are my brothers best friend does not mean anything." I defend walking to my room. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight," Isaac mumbles.
