The next morning, Sayori was laying in bed, Yuri holding onto her, but not too tightly. The older teen had stayed overnight to make sure her friend was okay. The alarm clock went off and Yuri turned to turn it off, inadvertently letting go of Sayori, who let out a whine of frustration, missing her friend's warmth badly.

"You know we have to get up, Sayori. Unless you don't want to face classes today. Would you like a day off?"

"I would love a mental health day. Can you call and tell the school?" She replied sleepily.

Yuri nodded. "Of course, Sayori. I'll stay with you to make sure you're alright, okay?"

Sayori's eyes widened. "You never miss classes!"

Yuri smiled. "I know. But I'd be willing to miss a day if it meant I got to stay with you."

Yuri's heart began to pound. The statement had more meaning than she had thought. Her mind was clouded with thoughts of Sayori, whether it be worries or happy moments they could spend together. She attempted and failed the shake these thoughts from her mind.

"What is wrong with me?" She thought, trying to distract herself from thinking about Sayori's ocean blue eyes that captivated her, or that radiant smile that would always make her days better no matter what....

"You okay, Yuri?" Sayori asked, noticing that Yuri was acting a bit different from usual. She was spacing out.

Yuri snapped back to reality. "O-Oh! I'm......fine.." Her cheeks were red from embarrassment now. "Sorry about that.."

Sayori smiled. "It's fine, Yuri. You don't have to apologize. Now, do you want breakfast?"

Yuri nodded happily. "Of course, Sayori. I would love to have breakfast."

Sayori got up from the bed, leading Yuri downstairs to the kitchen. "You want cereal or toast? That's all I got."

Yuri smiled again. "Toast, please."

Sayori chuckled nervously. "You're seriously going to have to help me, before I either set the house on fire or the toaster explodes." She rubbed the back of her neck. "Learned that the hard way.." she muttered.

Yuri giggled. "I'll help you. Don't you worry, Sayori."

After three attempts and one use of a fire extinguisher, the two girls finally managed to make some decent toast. The smell of burnt toast was NOT pleasant.

"Thanks, Yuri, for helping me." Sayori said, smiling, not realizing that a piece of her hair was on fire.

Yuri licked one of her fingers and extinguished the flame, giggling. "No problem."
