Deciding My Faction

~CHAPTER 1~

-Katniss's POV-

I hugged Prim, crying. I was going to choose my new faction or same. I want to choose Dauntless but i don't want to leave my family in Amity.

"Katniss" my mom calls, I look back and she's motioning me to come to her, I do.

"Yes?" I say worried, she doesn't look happy.

"You know" she says "if you leave Amity, you'll be leaving me, and Prim." She stops then continues "and Peeta, Gale, Effie, and Haymitch..."

I look at her mad and annoyed, was she trying to decide my faction?

"Mom," I say "I can choose which faction I want, understand? Don't choose for me please." Was I too harsh?

A tear comes to her left eye. She doesn't say anything, but leaves.

I wake up in a scream, my mom runs in.

"Katniss!" She screams worried

"What happened?!" She says

"I-I. My faction - my family" I say too scared

"Honey," she says "It's okay." She rubs my arm

I'm breathing heavily

"O-okay."

She leaves.

One more day.

I put on my long red dress; sleeves.

My mom splashes orange on the bottom

"Mom!" I yell

She doesn't reply and starts fading the orange into the red

"Oh my goodness. I love it." I say with my hands on my mouth.

"I knew you would" she smiles, kisses my head then walks off.

I take the dress off and hang it in the closet.

I'm in normal clothes now.

I start to talk to myself

"Dauntless? Abnegation? Amity? Erudite? Candor? What do I choose?"
