Another two months passed and the couple had begun construction on a raft. It was early days yet and they still had much to go. The foundations made out of wood were mostly done but the most difficult part was finding materials to make the other parts. It wasn't that they had given up hope on being found but time was ticking away and if the world wasn't going to come for them then they would just have to come to the world.

Both Barry and Caitlin were beginning to get restless and knew that they couldn't simply sit around all day waiting around for someone else to find them. Neither had the patience nor the time to waste. If they wanted to get off this island then they had to do all they could. They were going to fight for the life they were dreaming of having together no matter what.

However that morning something happened that rendered all their plans completely redundant. A helicopter flew over the island.

It was early when it happened the two of them were still asleep but as soon as the noise over their heads came over they immediately woke up.

"Cait! Is that the sound of a helicopter or am I just dreaming?" Barry said sternly as they both woke up with a start.

"I hear it too, darling!" she gasped.

The two of them both got up and ran as fast as they could out of the tent and to the front of the beach where they could see the helicopter flying around the island as if it was looking for something. Perhaps it was here for them. Maybe they are about to be rescued. Maybe they were finally getting what they had been waiting for for so long now.

"Hey! Hey! We are down here!" they both shouted and screamed as loud as the possibly could trying at all costs to get their attention even waving their arms around. They were prepared to do just about anything to get themselves out of here.

Within about ten seconds, the helicopter got closer and honed in on their location. After a few seconds, a huge booming voice left the cockpit via a microphone of some kind. It began to talk to the couple and said: "Stay back! We are about to land and you can board! Take anything that you need and be ready to leave in a few minutes!".

The couple looked at each other and teared up, sharing a long passionate kiss to celebrate. As soon as the moment passed they ran back to their tent to grab all of their personal belongings and bag that they had and rushed back out but still enough out the way for the helicopter to land in front of them.

"I can't believe this is happening. We are finally leaving this God-forsaken place," Caitlin whispered, grabbing his hand in anticipation. They were both shaking. This was just such a big deal for them both.

In a whirlwind, they were snuggled up together on the helicopter in their seats. Other than the pilot and co-pilot there was a small medical team who had done full medical examinations on the couple whilst they were still on the beach. The medical team was still paying strong attention to them making sure they were both okay, providing them with clean water and high calorie and protein bars. They were all curious to hear their story but weren't sure how to breach the subject with them. It had obviously been a traumatic event for them but they also saw the way they clung to each other. They were so much more than just a man and a woman who had been trapped together- they had clearly fallen deeply in love and that was something that didn't happen every day.

But perhaps that was a story for another day. A story for when they were both stronger and back in civilisation where they belong.

After a few hours, they arrived in Trinidad where they were taken to a hospital for a few hours to be completely checked out and make sure they were fine. After that, they were transferred to a luxury hotel to stay for a few days until they fly back to the US next week. The news had been covering the story like crazy even more now that they had been found. The story was blowing up all over the world and the press had swarmed them when they arrived at the hotel. It was quite the rush and Barty and Caitlin could hardly comprehend all of this craziness. They had been away from other human beings for so long that it was like they had just woken up from a dream.
