Episode 9: Competition among friends

"Wake up Fujiwara, it's Monday, we have school today!" Rika violently shakes my bed almost making me fall off with my pillows and blanket tightly held in my arms like my life depended on it.

"I-I'm awake Rika, you can stop now!" I shouted. 

"I'll wait for you outside." She closed the door leaving me and my bed in a complete mess. I'm beginning to hate the strength that Devils possess. I get up, fix my bed, take my uniform and make my way to the bathroom.

After a quick shower, I exist the bathroom with my uniform looking completely different from the norm. I didn't have the black ribbon around my collar because I lost it somewhere in my room and since I'm short on time, I took the first thing that I saw which happens to be a red tie. Mom saw this and with her grooming expertise, I leave the house with my hair slick back looking like a business man.

"Are you alright Rika, your face is red?" I'm getting worried, Rika's face has been like that ever since we left home. Is she coming up with a cold or fever? I hope not.

"I-Its nothing." She takes my hand in hers and intertwine our fingers together. 

"If you say so." I'm so use to Rika holding my arm or in this case my hand that I stop questioning her intentions in why she does what she does.

You know, its been a while since I last saw used my analyze skill on her, let's since how much she improved. Analyze.

Hmmm, threat level and mood are new, they must have been added during the system update. Threat level is none, meaning that she doesn't see me as a enemy and her mood shows that she's in  ... love! System, I need a explanation!

It's not everyday that you find out that a girl actually likes you. Should I accept her feelings? I do like her, but I'm already engaged with Sona. Maybe just maybe I can convince Sona into letting Rika join the marriage agreement. 

" Rika, I got something to say to you." I feel her hand tightening up, squeezing my hand to the point where my healing factor has to repair my now broken hand.

"What is it Fujiwara?" 

"I want you to know that I -," 

"Morning Rika, Morning Fujiwara." Issei and Asia greeted. 

"Sorry, were we interrupting something?" Asia asked.

"No Asia you weren't interrupting us, you can let go of my hand Rika, we're at school now." I said.

"Okay." Rika reluctantly lets go of my hand and heads to her class with Issei and Asia. I'll respond to your feelings Rika, just give some time. I fix my hair, adjust my tie and head to class. 

Seconds turned into minutes and minutes into hours and before I knew it, classes are finish and people are leaving. Today has been such a tiring day. Like this morning my shoe locker was completely filled with love letters that I had to secretly put some of them in my inventory because of how full my bag as become.
