Giddy excitement fills me as I sit in Quinton's leathery passenger seat. We're travelling in a black, 2018 Ford truck.
The windows are down, allowing the soft breeze to blow through my hair. The radio plays the latest songs, and I hum along lightly under my breath.
"You're beautiful, did you know that?" Quin's deep voice disturbs me from admiring the scenery outside.
A smile sneaks its way onto my lips and I give him a sideways glance. "Thanks."
He grins devishishly and momentarily finds my eyes before turning back to the road.
After a few minutes, we pull up into a crowded parking lot. There are people everywhere, donning the colors of the Knicks. There are mostly Blues, Oranges and silver.
We hastily find a parking space and take it as fast as we can.
We exit the car and Quin quickly jogs over to me before taking my hand in his. I glance up at him to find a breathtaking smile on his lips. His green eyes shine mysteriously and I intertwine our fingers together, making him grin.
We push our way through the crowds and finally get inside. We give in our tickets and make our way to our seats.
Our seats are in the seventh row, which isn't bad at all.
I give Quin an unexpected, giddy hug, squeezing him with joy. "This is amazing!"
His deep laughter reverberates through his body. "Your welcome." He says, his eyes dancing with happiness.
We settle down in our seats with anticipation, waiting for the game to start. The air is filled with the scent of newly cleaned floors and popcorn.
Finally, the Knick's players enter the space, donning their uniforms, and loud cheers and clapping abrupt in he crowd. Then the Lemmer's players enter and the clapping starts again.
The two team's starting lineup set up their play, standing in position with serious expressions. The referee walks up to the floor and stands in the middle of the two teams.
He holds up the orange basketball and flips it in the air, revving the game into motion.
The two players claw at the ball, jumping high to get it first. The Knicks get it and race to the other side. Their Point guard goes up for a shot, but the other team's Center player blocks the ball and catches it.
The Lemmer's have the lead and dribble to the other side before setting up their play. It's a clever set up and I watch with wide eyes.
The Point guard makes a quick bounce pass to the the Shooting guard, resulting in the Shooting guard taking a fast V cut, making his defender hesitate. He takes the hesitation to his advantage and throws a quick pass to the Center.
The Center catches the ball swiftly and jumps up for a shot. The orange ball bounces off the rim of the basket and one of the Knickers players catches it.
Once again, they race to the opposing team's side. The defence is tight, but they don't let that deter them. the Point guard calls a play and they quickly set up.
The Center come up to set a stiff screen on the Point guard's defender, allowing the Point guard to dribble around them and cut to the net. The Point guard goes up for a shot and surprises everyone with an amazing dunk shot.
The crowd breaks out into a series of applauds. The score is now 2-0.
The Lemmers attain the ball, dribbling forward. Their players set up their play. The Point guard gives a subtle gesture and all their players suddenly move to the left side of the net, letting their defenders follow them. The right side is now clear and the Point guard takes the opportunity and rushes to the net, shooting in the net and scoring 2 points for his team.
