BURN-CHAPTER ONE; Demon in the sky

S.H.I.E.L.D. HELLICARRIER

"Gentlemen." Nick comments smugly as Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, and Bruce Banner walk across the Hellicarrier bridge, Bruce taking his position at the science console. Cain watches the two while wiping clean a weirdly shaped blade that seemed to have teeth. He's in a black long sleeved v-neck shirt and jeans, dirty old boots completing the outfit. This blade is what history knows as 'The First Blade'.

Cain smirks in amusement when Steve hands Nick a ten dollar bill. The director takes it, then strides over to Bruce, extending a hand which the timid man hesitantly accepts.

"Doctor, thank you for coming." Nick greets, acting calmly but Cain can feel the fear and anxiousness directed at the doctor.

"Thanks for asking nicely." Bruce replied curtly, slightly irked. "So, uh... how long am I staying?" He asks anxiously and the demon raises a brow. He begins to wonder if all humans are anxious about other humans. Perhaps it was because of what the timid doctor could do, or rather, who he could turn into.

"Once we get our hands on the Tesseract, you're in the clear." Nick replies.

"Where are you with that?" Bruce inquires. Nick turns to a Caucasian man with short brown hair. This is Phil Coulson.

"We're sweeping every wirelessly accessible camera on the planet. Cellphones, laptops. If it's connected to a satellite, it's eyes and ears for us." Phil reports.

"That's still not gonna find them in time." Natasha inputs, her eyes on a monitor showcasing a man with dirty blond hair that kept short in a black and dark violet kevlar suit. Cain lifts his blade above his head, eying it with scrutiny. The spy seems to be the only one to notice the male and turns to the director with a raised brow. Her silent question goes ignored.

"You have to narrow the field." Bruce states, then pauses in thought. "How many spectrometers do you have access to?" He asks. Nick seems a little shocked and confused.

"How many are there?" Nick returns Bruce's question with one of his own and Cain snorts quietly, still going ignored by Steve and Bruce but not Natasha. She narrows his eyes on him with a mix of suspicion and interest.

"Call every lab you know, tell them to put the spectrometers on the roof and calibrate them for gamma rays." The good doctor orders before adding, "I'll rough out a tracking algorithm based on cluster recognition. At least we could rule out a few places." He pauses in his turning, realizing he doesn't know where he's going and looks back at Nick. "Do you have somewhere for me to work?" He inquires and Fury nods, turning to the redheaded spy.

"Agent Romanoff, would you show Dr. Banner to his lab, please?" Nick asks but it's more of an order than a request.

"You're gonna love it, Doc." Natasha comments in a fake giddy voice, leading Bruce off. "We got all the toys." Natasha adds and Cain smirks, having toys of his own that he loves to use on people. The First Blade being one of them. Some were for pleasure while others, well, they were for pain.

Already growing bored, Cain slowly disappears into the shadows. He decides to go poke around through the Hellicarrier, find out what he can learn about this "super secret" agency. Humans were funny, thinking a demon wouldn't be able to find out their dirty little secrets.

He pauses in a room in the lower floors, a large glass chamber in the center of it. Cain narrows his eyes, walking around it as he studies it. He couldn't feel any Holy aura so it couldn't have been drenched in holy water when it was made...
