'Harry's probably thinking I only think of him as James!' Sirius said angrily, after the fight with Molly during dinner with everyone present. When dinner ended, he had walked out, too hurt by Molly's below-the-belt insult, and Remus followed him into the office room.

'He doesn't, Padfoot. He knows he's not James and you know that too. Molly's insult was out of line', Remus said, sitting down next to him on the desk. He saw that there were tears in Sirius eyes.

'As if it is my fault that I was sent to Azkaban. That I wasn't there for him when he grew up.' Sirius put his head in his hands and groaned.

Remus put his hand on his back. 'It's not your fault.'

'I already know I'm a terrible godfather. I mean, everyone thinks it, I think it, I know it's true. I haven't been in his life for twelve years, being locked up, and when I returned all I do is reckless and stupid things.. Having to stay here in this house. I'm no use for him.'

'Sirius, stop. You're not a terrible godfather', Remus said sternly. He took some of Sirius' hair and pulled him upwards to have him look at him. Sirius' eyes were red from the crying.

'You haven't seen Harry as happy as I did when he found out you were his godfather. He looks up to you. He loves you, he really does. Even I get confused sometimes whether he is James, I mean, everyone does because he looks so much like him.'

Remus swallowed, but decided to say what he thought was the real reason Molly had lashed out at Sirius.

'Molly's jealous.'

'Jealous?' Sirius asked, clearly confused.

'She's been taking care of Harry for quite some years now, she sees him as her son. Then you came around suddenly, and I think she still has to get used to the idea of.. sharing Harry with you. Or, rather, you're his godfather so you have total responsibility for him. She's had that for years and now she has to let it go.'

Sirius bit his lip. 'I understand. Still, she didn't need to publicly insult me.'

'I know, she'll apologize later I think.'

'She better does, because you're right, Harry's my responsibility. James and Lily made me his godfather, not Molly', Sirius said sourly.

They heard a knock on the door. 'Come in', Remus said.

Harry opened the door. 'Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt, it's just.. I heard you shouting a bit and I thought you left the house.'

Remus realized he was still holding Sirius' hair, and quickly released it.

Sirius sighed out and shook his head. 'No, I just went here, I'm not allowed to leave, am I?'

'I'm sorry.'

'It's okay, you don't need to feel sorry for me. Besides, I get to spend time with you and Moony now', Sirius smiled. He saw Remus look at him with a certain expression and he knew what it meant.

'Listen..' he started awkwardly. He took a deep breath. 'Whatever Molly may say about me, I don't see you as James, or as a replacement for him. Believe me.'

Harry walked over to him. 'It's all right. I know you don't', he said sincerely. 'And if it was true, I wouldn't really blame you for it', he added.

Sirius stood up and took him in a one-arm hug. 'You're too kind sometimes, Harry.'

Remus grinned and crossed his arms. 'Yeah, if you want to live with Padfoot, you have to be less kind sometimes. He deserves a kick sometimes to get him back to reality', and he swung his leg at Sirius playfully.

'Don't listen to the bad wolf, Harry', Sirius said, arm still around him. 'I'm perfect the way I am.'

Harry grinned at both of them, glad to see them together teasing each other, like friends do. Nothing seemed to have changed between them, even after twelve years apart.
