Your POV
I was walking down to lunch with Kehlani. Everyone kept looking at us weird and murmuring when they saw us because Kehlani usually sticks to herself or that girl that I see with her from time to time. We were laughing the entire way down, cracking dirty jokes and whatever else you could think of. Just when we reached the cafeteria, Kehlani slips a note into my hand. I look down at it and scoff and roll my eyes as soon as I see it.

Kehlani busts out in laughter. I smile and pull her into me as we walk inside.

Hayley and the gang are where they're usually seated, at the table by the window. Hayley waves me over when she sees me. I smile and get my food with Lani before making my over there. Before I reach the table, I feel Kehlani pull me back.

"What's wrong?" I ask concerned. Kehlani looks at my table before looking back at me. "Are they gonna like me?" She asks, looking through me with her beautiful chocolate eyes.

"You are asking me?" I ask surprised. Kehlani usually didn't care what other people thought about her. If she wanted something she would get it without the consent of anyone. So to say I was taken aback was an understatement.

"Well yeah. I'm gonna be around my girlfriends' friends who I've never really had any contact with till now and I want to make a good impression on them...let them know that they can trust me with you."

My heart skipped a beat when she said that. I loved how real she could be. It was rare for her to speak her mind romantically or speak from her heart but when she did, it was beautiful. I felt like I was getting to see another side of her. Like she was opening the curtains on a window that looked into her heart or her mind and I got to be the person to look through it.

"Aww. Look at my baby being all nervous around my friends." I tease, reaching up and kissing her cheek. She blushed a light shade of red before smiling.

"One they get to know you, they're gonna love you just as much as I do." Kehlani smiles and pecks my lips before we walk over to her table. Hayley and Bebe look up at Kehlani, clearly confused while the boys hork their food down.

"Damn guys. Do you believe in chewing your food?" I ask sarcastically. Bryson looks up at me and smiles with a mouth full of food. "What's up shorty?" He says.

"Gross." I respond and Kehlani giggles next to me. Bruno also looks up from his tray and actually swallows before speaking. "What's up Y/N/N. Kehlani." He acknowledges. Lani smiles and waves. "Hey." She responds.

Hayley speaks up. "So were you gonna sit down or just stand there?" I roll my eyes before sitting down and scooting over. I pat the spot next to me and Kehlani sits down before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"So what brings you here stranger?" Bebe says. Shooting Kehlani a friendly smile.

Kehlani looks at me before responding to her question. "Oh. You know... I just wanted to meet you guys. Introduce myself in a new way." Kehlani says back. I smile at her squeeze her knee under the table.

Hayley leans forward. "What do you mean new way? What did you change?" I laugh and look at Kehlani. "Do you wanna say it or should I?" I ask her. She nods her head at me and I grab her hand and intertwine our fingers before raising our hands up for everyone at the table to see.

"Everyone, this is Kehlani Ashley Parrish, my new girlfriend."

Everyone's jaws fall to the floor and I have to reach across the table to pick them up. No one says anything for a while and Hayley looked both hurt and happy for me. "Shit." I hear Kehlani mutter under her breath. I squeeze her hand before pulling Hayley into a hug and whispering in her ear, "We'll talk later." She nods and pulls away from me. Finally Bryson clears his throat.
