Thousands of miles away from Loki's prison, a woman stood in solitude, ringed with jagged mountains with wide glaciers flowing from their peaks. The woman held a silver mirror, staring into its depths, watching images flashing rapidly inside the mirror. The mirror flashed bright, and frosted over with ice, returning the mirror to a lusterly silver.
Hevna pulled her hands away from the icy mirror and inhaled deeply, smelling the fragrant scent of the tundra. He is on Midgard, practically undefended. What mortal fool decided he would secure there? Hevna thought. But first, I must free our children. It's such a pity what humans are doing to the earth. Soon, even ---- will be a barren desert. All the ----- will die, all the ice will melt. This is what I'm fighting for: Midgard itself. I have always been its guardian, humans are just another speices. They are not even particularly intelligent-birds and other primates are quite intelligent as well. And they are the ones destroying, burning, and razing. They must be eliminated, for the good of this world. My brother is the only other Æsir that understands this. I must free him to fulfil my obligations. Hevna what she hoped would not be her last look at the majestic glaciers surrounding her, and traced the runes isa and ræið on the mirror. Instantly, the mirror turned from silver to black, which gradually resolved itself into an image. A bunker on a tiny island, surrounded by a rough sea. The mirror flashed white again, and Hevna traced another set of runes: nauðr and ræið. Hevna and the mirror both vanished, leaving the lonely tundra and the glaciers surrounding it alone once more.
