he set off for work again, walking at his usual pace. it was a dull day, there were showers spitting from the sky. though, despite the fact the male should have gotten to work quicker, he felt there was never much of a rush. the shoo he worked in was hidden away down a discreet alley in the centre of the city. it was rare customers would show up, and if they did they were normally regulars.

Seoul was bright and busy; every kind of colour would appear on shops, buses, cars, build board advertisements, and street signs. today it was bleak, everything that was usually vibrant seemed monotone under the clouds. everything seemed depressed.

the boy passed a few people he knew. somebody from the café he went to for lunch, a lady from the shop he went to occasionally, and an classmate who he didn't really talk to. he nodded to them politely as he passed by. he didn't like to admit it, but it bored him to see the same faces everyday. even if it wasn't much of a problem, some part of him hoped he'd meet somebody new some day.

yoongi, upon arriving, hung up his coat and taking a seat in the padded stool behind the counter. sitting was pretty much the only thing he did. when the occasional customer did come in, he would then stand. in the male's mind, being payed to sit around almost all day was the best job he could've asked for.

his workmate finally arrived, and this probably the person he considered closest to a friend; namjoon.

namjoon was a talkative person, likeable too. pretty much the definition of a social butterfly. wherever he went he'd always make a new friend or learn something new. to yoongi, this just didn't seem like a realistic lifestyle. it seemed far too... extroverted, which wasn't the thing for him. he was just thankful that wherever namjoon went, he brought his wonderful personality along with him.

"morning, yoongi!" the younger said cheerfully, smiling at him as he brought his bike around from behind the counter to store it in the back. "great the plants are finally getting watered, ain't it?" he called to the other.

the older hummed a greeting uninterestedly in response. yoongi never felt particularly chatty, though this was under his own influence. he never really seemed nervous about talking to people, he just wasn't into being social. and even if it did appear rude, people who were close to him, knew that he meant well.

namjoon normally worked the coffee machines,  then cleaned behind the counter. yoongi would manage orders and the cash register, and when the store began to get unclean he would tend to cleaning the sitting area. there was a guy who washed the dishes, which none of them really knew, so stayed out of his way. then their manager - a short, chubby man in his forties who didn't speak much either - would sit in the back and manage finances, stocking, etcetera.

their day had begun, their usual eight 'till four shift wore the day on, but the two's interaction passed the hours. the occasional customer came in from half eight to eleven, then it was their lunch break. one hour and a half of freedom, but mainly just to eat.

it wasn't raining much anymore, infrequent droplets fell, but that was it. the grass was dewy, the air was clean and crisp, and the sky was beginning to return to its normal pale blue. the bright atmosphere had returned, and all kinds of people wandered the crowded streets.

the two walked together to the same café they normally ate lunch at - they liked to keep routine. yoongi would get a chicken, pepperoni, and parmesan panini, a slice of red velvet cake, and a glass of orange juice. the other would order a BLT sandwich, a blueberry muffin, and a black coffee - which yoongi found rather ironic.

"hey," namjoon mumbled, picking up the first half of his sandwich. to which the older replied with a 'mhm'. "have you heard of this guy before? i think his name is something like... hosong- hoseok" he questioned, looking up as he took a small bite.
