Sarah POV
I immediately returned to my dorm after my encounter with Vince. He was awful. His attitude was the worst! I thought he was kinda cute but now, he just looks like a jerk.
I dropped myself on the bed and opened my Facebook account on my laptop. I changed my status and it seemed to alert my friends. They spammed me with comments like 'What happened?' or something like 'Are you ok?'. Truth be told, I'm not in the mood to talk to them. My heart is aching and I want to be left alone.
Suddenly, my door was slammed open. It was Darla, my best friend. She just lives across my room. We have each other's spare keys incase we want to go into each other room. She can be the sweetest person I know, but she can also be the most frightening person you can ever face.
"Sarah! Are you okay? I saw your Facebook status and I came here immediately!" She worriedly said.
"I'm fine. Just close the door and enter already."
She turned around and looked at what she had done. "Sorry for suddenly barging in. I was just shocked. I thought both of you looked great together and this happened." She said as she closed the door behind her.
"Yeah, I know. I used to think the same things, just to figure out that he is not what I thought he is." I replied.
She sat beside me on the bed and hugged me, and I returned the gesture. I felt a little bit comfortable with her hugging me like this. It made me feel loved.
She stayed in that position for a while before releasing me. "I can tell that you cried. Your eyes are puffy and red. Let me get an ice pack. You'll lose your beauty by letting it stay like that." She smiled at me and ran to her room.
I forgot to mention that she is a very caring friend. She knows the feeling of being abandoned because her parents left her in front of an orphanage. I don't know how she supports herself with all the expenses and tuition especially that she lives in a dormitory. She never told me.
Darla returned almost immediately after she left. Some benefits of being neighbors. She was carrying two small ice packs and asked me to lie down.
I did as she asked and closed my eyes. I felt the cold packs gently placed on both my eyes.
"Is it too cold?" She asked.
"Nope."
"So, tell me, what happened? Why did you break up?"
"You're really gonna ask me that just after my break up?"
"Duh. I'm your best friend. I promise you that you'll feel better after releasing all those stress."
I sighed heavily before talking, "Well, Creo had been cheating on me for a month without me knowing it. I saw him a while ago kissing a girl from the lower batch, so I confronted them. The girl asked me who I was, so I told her that I'm Creo's girlfriend. Guess what the girl said."
"What?" She asked even though I knew that she knows the answer.
"She told me that I must be lying because she's his girlfriend and they had been together for a month."
"Oh my gosh. I can't believe Creo really cheated on you. He's like the perfect boyfriend image!"
"So you didn't believe me when I said that he cheated on me?"
"I needed to hear your story, girl. How else would I know if it was just a LQ or really the real thing."
I heard her grab a chair and felt her brush my hair with a comb as I felt my eyes burn up again despite the ice pack on my eyes. I was about to crying again.
"Come on, Sars. You're gonna look awful again if you start crying."
I wonder how she knew that I was at the verge of tears. "I'm trying not to cry, but you asked why we broke up so my tears are threatening to come out again!" I said a little bit angrier than I intended to.
"Sorry, baby girl. I just wanted to know. I'll treat you to our favorite yoghurt place this saturday as an apology. Okay?"
"Heard and noted." I said as I smiled at her, pushing back the tears.
I heard a gasp from her. "Don't tell me you overreacted so that I'll treat you."
I smiled mischievously. Ofcourse I didn't but she doesn't know that. "Yes, I did."
She playfully slapped my shoulders, "I hate you" I can feel her smile broaden. "By the way, I just remembered there was a-"
I suddenly yawned against my will. "Sorry, I just suddenly felt sleepy."
"It's ok. Go to sleep. I'll be here until you do. Don't worry about the ice packs or the door. I'll handle it. I'll wake you up later when it's dinner time."
"Ok" I replied. This is something I like about her. She's like a mother and cares about me the most. Darla continued to brush my hair until I felt myself fall into a deep sleep.

I dreamed about something weird and abnormal. It was about me together with Creo. We were happily walking together, but I heard someone else calling my name. It was very faint but familiar. An ache in my heart started to grow. I looked around but found no one else but Creo.
"Baby, what's wrong?" Creo asked.
"Can you hear it? Someone is calling me."
"I can't hear anybody but you." He laughed.
"No, I'm serious! Someone was calling me!"
He looked at me with concerned eyes "I'm not sure about-WAKE UP!!"
I suddenly sat up. My eyes felt better, but the bright light, suddenly hitting my eyes, made it hurt. I rubbed them and focused a bit. Darla must have covered me with my blanket because I saw it bunched up on my stomach.
"Hey, Darla-"
"Sorry, I'm not her." A familiar manly voice said.
I looked to my side and saw that it certainly wasn't her. "Vince Gonzales..."
