Once upon a time, in a certain magical kingdom, there was a happy royal family. But the happiness did not last long. On a certain winter night, the queen would wake up to a cold wind. She thought nothing of it at first, but soon an uneasy feeling would overcome her; so she woke up the king to warn him that she fell completely off.

He told her to go check the windows, and he would go ask the guards if something had happened. The king and queen both did their tasks, but discovered that nothing was wrong. So they both shrugged it off and went back to sleep.

The only problem was; they didn't check underneath the bed. A figure had being there the whole time, waiting for them to go back to sleep; so that it could start it's plan. When it became clear that the couple was sleeping again, the figure started coming out from underneath the bed to start out it's plan.

It started to make it's way to another chamber, where a children's bed stood; with a beautiful baby princess sleeping in it. When the figure hovered over the child to look at it, the little princess woke up. When she saw a dark figure standing over her, she thought it was her mother; so she lifted her arms up and started laughing at it.

The figure started to panic, it had to get out soon or else there would be a great chance that it would get caught then and there; and it could not afford to get caught. The little princess started seeing more clearly in the dark and could make out the figure was nor her mother nor her father. She became confused, but also a bit suspicious; nobody normally came to see her at that hour.

The princess started to make some little sounds, but as the figure stood there longer the sounds grew louder. It quickly realised that it had to execute it's plan there and then, it took the bag that had been by it's side the whole time and looked into it. In the bag was some kind of drug that makes you unconscious for a long while; if it was applied now, the princess would sleep until the afternoon of the next day.

The figure started to pour some of the drug onto a rag that it had carried along, and covered the girl her mouth with it. She started to struggle, but it was stronger than her; she quickly fell asleep.

When it realized that the princess fell asleep, the figure grabbed her in it's arms and ran for it. He smoothly got out of the palace, but began hearing the trumpets; that meant no good. The sound of the trumpets meant that all the guards should be on high alert and the captain of the royal guard is being called by the royal family to later give orders to the knights.

When the figure finally reached the nearby town, it searched covered. But the guards had arrived before them, and were searching every single house. It decided that the girl would be safer when she was left with a family, and that it would get her back in a few years; so it started to prepare.

It took a paper out of it's bag and thought about what it would write; eventually it penned something down.

The figure took the princess and headed towards the houses, but made sure to stay clear of the guards. When it finally arrived to an already searched house, the figure laid the princess down with the note it had written.

When both were in place, the figure knocked and ran; so the owners of the house wouldn't see that there was something nearby.

When the door opened, it revealed a young couple that were on guard. They were confused to whom had knocked onto their door, but their questions were answered when they looked down to spot a little girl that slept on their doorstep.

The couple read the little paper and were shocked and quickly took the girl inside, so she wouldn't die of a winter night; it was winter after all. When it seemed that the couple weren't about to go outside with the child, the figure could feel at ease and left; it took off into the dark of the night.

That cold winter night, the princess disappeared. The royal guards had been searching for months and months for the princess; but to no avail. The kingdom mourned over the loss of the princess, whom they had never even seen before. But one thing was sure; everyone hoped she would return one day.

And little did they know, that the girl that they were looking for was closer than they thought.

And that her story just had begun.
