Misaki POV
Shortly after we hung up I decided to head back home for now, as we wouldn't meet till somewhere in the evening and so there was still plenty of time. When I got back home I decided to give Aiko a quick call and let her know I was still alive, since she was quite the worrying type.. when I called her she immediately picked up and was clearly very, she even insisted on coming over and my attempts to assure her I was perfectly fine failed as she was now on her way here. Not much later the doorbell rang and I sighed as I walked to the door and let Aiko in. "I told you I'm fine.." she walked right in and shook her head. "You may say that, but it's obvious you're not, you disappeared for a week like you actually vanished than come back and everything's fine? Not buying it ! you need a friend now." I looked at her sheepishly and rolled my eyes. Right and that friend is you..? I thought to myself and walked into the kitchen to make some coffee. "I just noticed I have never actually been at your place..." she quietly mumbled while looking around curiously. "It's nice, kinda cozy." I shook my head and smiled to myself. "Thanks." I sat down next to her on the couch and handed her a cup of coffee, sipping mine in silence. Well this is kind of awkward. "So... what happened?" You too huh, lovely. "Just some family stuff, they needed me so I was out of town for a bit." I lied to her with a straight face, I didn't even have any family. "Ah.. I see, but how did you manage to be entirely unreachable though..?" For Christ's sake lady can you not ask those type of things? "I kind of broke it, so I had to bring it to store to get it fixed." I simply said, drinking my coffee. "Ah.. yeah that explains.." she said in a quiet voice, but something told me she still was still questioning the situation. "Don't worry okay?" I smiled at her and she nodded in return, smiling lightly. I honestly wondered when she had gotten so sharp, she always seemed kind of.. well.. kind of in the clouds with her head all the time. We talked a bit more and eventually she had talked me in to go shopping with her, I have no idea how.. cause I hate shopping.. a lot, but somehow she managed to get me to come with her. "Well I guess I could buy a new camera while we're at it, I kind of need an upgrade.." I mumbled as we arrived at the mall. "See? That's the spirit!" She said happily and a little too excited for my taste.. this was going to be a long and painful afternoon. A few hours later and I had actually tried to sneak away several times and would end up being dragged to the next place, sat somewhere on a bench waiting for her to finish whatever she was doing.. get coffee.. lots of coffee. And I actually ended up buying a few things, which was mostly all camera stuff, I had to admit I was quite happy with my new camera though, so I guess it wasn't too bad after all, but I still was not a fan of shopping. "Misaaaa" Aiko suddenly ran up to me, holding something what seemed to be a.. phone case? "I got you something ! Since you dropped and broke your phone... I thought this would be nice!" She held up the panda like phone case and it was honestly kind of adorable and I couldn't help but smile. "You didn't have to, it's adorable though." She grinned happily and grabbed my phone, putting it in the case. "It's fineee, besides it suits you!" I raised an eyebrow, wondering what she meant with that. "You're such a goof sometimes." I joked and chuckled, while she simply agreed and laughed as well. "Let's go home, my feet hurt.." she mumbled as she sat down on a bench with her bags. "Well yeah that's what you get if you visit every shop.." she pouted and I couldn't keep my laugh in. "Alright lets go." With that said we both went back home and when I got back home I noticed that it wouldn't be too long anymore until I'd meet Arima, so I decided to go get ready. After a short while I was ready to go and looked in the mirror one last time and than left the house.
Arima POV
I had just finished talking to Akira about Haise and the Quinx, apparently they had been improving quite a bit as a team as of late, but not only that they had also been working on improving themselves and their weaknesses. Haise seemed to have taken on a parental role with them and taught them quite well, it seems it was the right choice to put them together. I quickly finished the last few things and left the office, heading to the coffee shop where I would Misaki. Shortly after I got there she walked up to me and smiled, causing me to smile as well. She sat down opposite of me and soon enough we had ordered and enjoyed a good cup of coffee. "How was your day?" I asked her and she already smiled. "It was interesting, my friend Aiko thought something terrible had happened and insisted on coming over to see if I was okay with her own eyes. Than after that she somehow talked me into going to the mall with her and dragged me all over the place, managed to but a new camera though and I guess it was kind of fun?" She laughed as she spoke and I laughed as well, as it was hard to picture her like that. "That does sound like an interesting day, I would have loved to see that." She grinned and shook her head. "I'm not gonna go to the mall again anytime soon." "Not a fan of shopping than." I said and she smiled. "Not really no, but how was your day?" "Not as interesting or as active as yours I guess. Just a simple and quiet day at work, mostly just paper work and meetings." "Sounds fun." She grinned. "Depends on what your view on fun is." I smiled and thought about what Haise had said before, that I should tell her how I feel. "Arima?" I noticed I had zoned out for a moment and she chuckled. "Penny for your thoughts?" I thought about t and decided I should maybe tell her how I felt, but I wondered if that would actually be a good idea and if it wasn't too soon. "Would you mind to go on a walk?" She looked at me curiously "of course not" smiled that same warm and kind smile that always caused me to smile as well. I paid the bill and we walked outside. It was already starting to get dark and I offered her my hand, she took it and we walked. Not much later we were at the same park where we had first met and I stopped walking. "I think you are a very kind and warm person, Misaki. I may not know you that well, but I know that for a fact and I also know that as of late I've felt things I haven't felt in a long time, I feel comfortable around you, but most of all accepted. You've made me feel peaceful and with that.. I want to say you're very special to me and you mean a lot to me." I spoke as I looked back at her, I could tell she was surprised and noticed her cheeks turning red. I'm sorry if it was too straight forward, but I really wanted to tell you." She quickly shook her head and smiled brightly. "Don't say sorry ! You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear that." Now I was surprised, I didn't actually expect that. "Really?" "Yes really, and honestly.. I feel the same. I haven't actually felt this way with or.. towards anyone else before, except for you. I feel comfortable around you, normal and accepted, but mostly peaceful and well.. happy." Surprised by her answer, I looked at her smiling. I don't think I've actually ever felt this way or this happy before, so instead of thinking or saying any more, I did what I felt was right and I gently placed my hand at the side of her face and kissed her lips gently, but lovingly and she returned the kiss, wrapping her arms around my neck. "Misaki, I want you by my side, to be with me, so will you stay with me?" I asked her in a quiet voice, looking back at her. "Yes, of course I wouldn't want anything else." She smiled as she placed another kiss on my lips, while I smiled back, happily wrapping my arms around her and holding her close to me.
