Time flies so fast when you're busy....busy fighting people trying to kill you, avenging loved ones, figuring out how behind you are in school, finding out that you're not quite done with school..the list goes on.
At least, Rob and I are almost to the finish line.
"Hey kiddo," Rob taps my head lightly.
"Where's your glasses?" It's the first thing I notice.
"Decided that contacts will be the way to go. Mom always nags about my eyes. She literally dragged me to go to our aunt's to get my hair cut. She said it was too unruly." Rob visibly shudders at the thought of it. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't lying. My mom lifted Rob and slung his tall frame onto her shoulder once to get his hair cut. She just showed up into his apartment one day randomly and did that.
I think it's due to the fact he video chat with her the previous day and he had just gotten his exams over. Rob is a little bit of a college slob where he stays indoors and forgets to keep his appearance up when he's working with a deadline.
"How do I look?" He fans his graduation gown confidently.
"The same brother who used to eat his own snot." I shrug, though his lack of glasses and fresh hair cut makes him look very handsome.
Its finally graduation time for us. Our graduation timeline ended up being off schedule due to all the events. We toughed it out though.
"They just called you!" I push him forward. He barely stumbles and walks gracefully up to shake the hand of the college dean. He beams a nice smile as loud hollers of the twins and the rest of our direct family are heard.
"You're so hot!" One of the twins yells dramatically. His statement brings a crowd of laughter. Rob rolls his eyes before walking away.
"Naomi Jax Smith." I scramble up to shake the college dean's hand. She gives me a soft smile.
"HELL YA!" I whoop and throw my fist up as my family hollers once more.
"THAT'S MY COUSIN. GO JAXXXX!" Lia shouts passionately. I wink and point to her with a grin as I walk away.
"Why'd you get the nice comment? The freaking twins." Robin rolls his eyes again as soon as he sees me. I can tell he's not serious though. Eventually, we sit back into our row.
"Hey....hey...." I wake up to Rob shaking my shoulder. I blink for a few seconds and realize I had fallen asleep as we waited for the graduation speeches to end.
"I can't believe you actually fell asleep." Rob sighs.
"It's boring." I shrug. I look around to see a few people standing around. "Oh, is it over now?" I let out a fat yawn and stretch my arms.
"You're ridiculous." Rob sighs once more. I pay him no attention. Before I find our family, the twins have already found us.
"HORRAYYYY!" The two of them tackle us heavily to the ground. We all topple onto the hard ground and rub our aching bodies.
"Gentle, you dumb shits." Marco grumbles as Lia whacks the back of their heads.
Rob and I dust ourselves off before our parents swoop us into a big hug.
"Our kids are college graduates! Time sure flies!" My mom beams and sniffles a little.
"Family picture! Family picture!" My dad yells as he holds up his video recorder.
"Is that thing recording?" I flinch back as he zooms it really close to my face.
"You look beautiful honey," my dad bats my hands away.
