Lili's POV
"See you later," I replied to Harry before he shut his door to his apartment. I don't know why he has been so weird with me tonight - flirting in the bar and then so cold towards me as soon as I bring up him avoiding me. He's so on and off, and to be honest I'm quite sick of it.
After looking in my bag for my keys for what feels like a lifetime, I finally pull them out and put the key in the lock. But when I put the key in, I notice that my front door is already unlocked, and my hand freezes. What the hell? I slowly push my door open, and the first thing that I can do is scream. A huge, ear-piercing scream, that I'm sure people could here from a mile away. Around my apartment, everything is messed around, upside down, inside out. My whole apartment is a mess, I run into my bedroom to my safe, and its open, all my money and valuables are gone. Tears start to fill my eyes, he's found me.
I sob, and fall to the floor, my head in my hands, before I hear loud footsteps running towards my apartment, "Lili!", Harry's raspy voice fills my apartment. I sob harder from my bedroom as the door opens, I look up and see the familiar brown curls, "oh my god, Lil, are you alright? Whats happened?", he says softly as he sits down beside me and puts his arm around my shoulders. I lean into his body, the smell of peppermint and aftershave fills my senses as tear after tear lands on his white t shirt. "I've been burgled Harry, someone's taken everything," I reply back to him, but unknown to him I know exactly who did this.
"Lil, come with me," he mumbles before kissing my head and getting up, holding his hand out for me to take. I grab his hand and he pulls me up, taking me wherever he wishes.
Its silent as we walk through my apartment, he grabs my bag that I dropped by my front door, along with my keys and my phone before leading me out of the apartment, locking the front door behind us. He lead me into his apartment before gesturing me to sit down on the sofa. I do as he wishes, before he goes into the kitchen. I take a minute to let my eyes wander around his home, the same one I was drinking tea and laughing in only a few weeks ago. His walls are painted a dark grey, and his floor is wooden, with a grey rug to match the walls in the middle of his lounge. There are a few pictures on the cabinet by the wall, I notice a dog in one, and I also spot Harry's dark curls and wide smile appearing in one, along with a boy and a girl whom I don't seem to recognise.
"Here you are," Harry walks towards me with a cup of tea and a biscuit, and takes a seat next to me. "Thank you, Harry, you didn't have to do this," he chuckles, the dimples in his cheeks becoming prominent as he does so, "now, I don't know about you, but I would be a pretty shitty friend if I let you sit there crying your eyes out, and feeling unsafe in your own home, of course I was going to help you," he reassures me, his eyes meeting mine, as he places a hand on my shoulder. Friend. That word stung, and I don't like the feeling. Is that all I am to him? A friend that he kisses every now and then, and then avoids for two weeks?
I reply with a weak smile, before taking a sip of my tea. I put the mug back on the table, and a lone tear rolls down my face. I am about to wipe it before Harry beats me to it, his warm skin meeting my face. I look up at him, my breathe hitching in my throat as his green eyes meet mine, his finger running across my cheek, before he runs it across my bottom lip, both our breaths catching before he moves his hand away.
There is silence between us as we both just sit there, taking sips from our tea and just thinking. Our relationship is very weird. One minute we are friends, he even took me out with his friends, but the next he is avoiding me, and then kissing me, and then avoiding me again. But the one thing about Harry is that I am always comfortable around him, no matter what.
"I wanted to apologise," his voice breaks the silence as he turns to look at me, our eyes meeting once again. I look at him, urging him to carry on, "for earlier, I, uh, I didn't mean to, um, snap at you about the whole.....avoiding thing," he stutters, clearly he isn't used to being wrong. "I have been busy, but it was wrong of me, and I have been enjoying your company, and I guess the, uh, the, kiss at the gym just made me scared to, um, talk to you, I guess? I don't know, I'm just sorry for being a prick," I smile at him, the 'apology' sounding completely alien coming from him. "You waffled on a bit there," I giggled, his eyes lighting up as I continue to talk, "but its alright, you don't need to worry about it, I understand if you regret kissing me, I guess it was an in the moment thing," his smile falters. "Oh, okay, yeah, maybe I guess," he replies, he seems, disappointed? I know that I sure am, but he doesn't correct me about him regretting it, so I guess it doesn't really matter.
"I just enjoy hanging out with you, you're really the only person I see pretty much everyday, so I just don't wanna be avoiding each other," I smile at him, hoping that he agrees. "Of course, Lil, believe it or not I actually enjoy spending time with you," he laughs. "Come on, you can have my bed tonight," he says as he gets up off the sofa and gestures me to follow him to his room.
I stand up and walk behind him, and find myself admiring his figure - his back muscles move prominently in his shirt as he walks towards his room, his dark curls softly bouncing up and down as he does so. His room is exactly how I imagined it. A big, double bed against one wall, and clothes laying across his room. The scent of peppermint and just, Harry, fills my senses as I take in my new surroundings. The walls are all painted white, and there are grey curtains draping across an open window, which lets a small breeze in. The view from the window is beautiful; the lights of the city visible for miles.
"Here," Harry hands me a white t shirt and shorts before leaving the room to let me change. My insides melt at his kind gesture before I change into the clothes he gave me. The t shirt is more of a dress on me, and hides the shorts that I am wearing underneath. Suddenly the door reopens and Harry walks in, shirtless. "Right so here's a glass of water," he hands the drink to me, "and there is the en suite bathroom. If you need anything then I will be on the sofa," he smiles at me and starts to turn towards the lounge. "Harry," I speak up. He turns around, his green eyes meeting mine, "will you stay with me for a bit?" I ask, surprising both him and myself with my bold question. "Of course," he says, before walking round to the bed and jumping in. I slip in the other side, shivering as I pull the covers over my body. I turn on my side and see that he has done the same, as I am met with his white smile. I smile weakly back at him, remembering the events of tonight.
"Do you want to talk about tonight?" He questions, I shake my head no, letting out a sigh, "I'm just devastated. I don't know what I'm supposed to do now," my voice breaks as I talk, another tear rolling down my cheek. "I'm not safe anymore," he looks at me concerned, but reassures me anyway, "of course you're safe, Lili, it was just a burglary, you'll be alright, I promise," his soothing voice speaks through the air. "I'm not safe Harry," I repeat, a bit more stern. He looks, worried? "What? What do you mean you're not safe?" I shake my head at him and let out a laugh, "We all have secrets, Harry," I reply, noticing how close we have got in the bed, his face almost touching mine. He moves towards me slightly and I can feel his breathe fanning across my lips, "we do all have secrets, Liliana," his deep, raspy voice fills my ears as he is closer than ever. "It just depends on how good you are at keeping them," he barely whispers before he plants his soft lips on mine. I'm in shock as his lips crash over mine repeatedly, I open my mouth to let his tongue in and he does the same, his hand reaching under the covers as he plants it on my hip, pulling me closer to him. He pulls away from the kiss to check my expression, "you okay?" He breathes, I nod in return, "never been better," I reply, smirking, before crashing my lips onto his once more. I put my hand on his cheek, lacing it round to his neck as I play with the curls at the bottom of his neck. He lets out a moan as I do so, intensifying our kiss even further.
I shut my eyes as we kiss for what seems like hours, touching each other again and again, as all I can think of is those curly locks and green eyes, and the fact that whenever I am with Harry, I feel safe from him. He isn't going to find me. He can't harm me anymore.
