As I was sipping on my nicely brewed cappuccino which the warmth spread through body and waking me up, I saw a young girl holding a round pink balloon which was filled with helium so it floated up to the sky and to prevent it from flying away, it was carefully tied to her wrist. Along with that she held an ice-cream cone topped with chocolate ice-cream in her right hand, while her left held her mother's hand. Her grin was from ear to ear, as she looked at her mother and began to work on the ice-cream. Her wavy brown hair that was up to her back was then tied into a ponytail by her mother as she licked the ice-cream happily. Her mother made sure that no ice-cream got onto her beautiful floral dress, decorated with pink flowers on a blue background.
The happiness was so suddenly wrecked by a man, who walked quickly bumped into her. Luckily, due to the certain measures taken with the balloon it did not fly away. However the ice-cream topping fell off the cone, then onto the ground. The girl's euphoric expression shifted into utter despair but what amazed me was that she did not cry. It was a typical enough scene for a child to cry but she did not, she gritted her teeth together, gripped her hands tightly and held her tears back. The man bent down to clean the mess up, this also made the man be levelled with her line of eyesight and apologised to her, the girl's head can be seen nodding from my point of view. I could only think that she said it was okay, along with her mother who also bent down to help clean the mess said , from what I could make out, that it was okay. The man scanned the area and put up his forefinger, his palm faced the girl, he probably told her to wait there. A few moments later the man returned with a chocolate ice-cream exactly like the one that fell. The girl's smiled and thanked the man along with her mother which smiled at her. The man then patted her head and said something to her as he smiled and waved at them and left. The girl and her mother also waved back and they were both going back to their separate ways simply keeping the moment as a happy memory. Though I did not know about the man's thought but I think he was not disappointed about that meeting either.
Like I said I do not know about the man but I learnt something from the girl. Even when she lost what was so important to her she did not cry. She faced the situation head on and it was like she knew there was going to be a solution other than crying. It was admirable how she fought her tears, I would say that she didn't want to trouble her mother or the man but I say she has a hopeful future ahead of her.
