When I came home from the lake I went straight to my room and sat in my bed. I stared up at the ceiling those words Connor said repeating in my mind. "I think I can tell you now, I love you Charlotte. I always will and I always have."
I'd never guessed the my best friend had a crush on me and... did I like him back? I'm so confused. Don't get me wrong the kiss was good, really good actually and Connor was really hot but I can't forget, HE'S MY BEST FRIEND! And what about Margo? What would she think? And Austin? Do I still have feeling for him too?
My head started to hurt so I decided to take a nap. It had been a kind day and I'm sure tomorrow will be filled with more teasing from Becca.
~SCHOOL~
I showed up at school and the whispers and laughs still continued but that was to be expected so I didn't really care. Margo came running through the hallway to me at full speed. Lord... I hope Connor didn't tell her... "Hey! I was trying to find you all day yesterday! Where were you?"
"Um...I was... uh... went out to dinner with the family." I said shyly hoping she wouldn't notice my lie. I'm a terrible liar and she always realizes when I do but she seemed to ignore it today.
I decided it would be best not to tell Margo about my kiss with Connor until I spoke to him. "And you didn't think to invite me? Shame on you Char!" she answered laughing a little. She was really happy and hyper today and I don't know why. "Margo... your a little... how to put it... jumpy today. Are you okay?"
"Okay so guess what?!". She had the biggest grin on her face when she said that and it actually made me a little nervous. "What?" I hope she didn't do anything stupid.
"Well you know that Talent Show the school puts on every year? I signed us up! Aren't you excited?! Char and Margo sing-" I cut her off in the middle of her sentence. "YOU DID WHAT?!" I said a little more loudly then I meant to. "You know I'm shy! I'm not doing it I can't! especially after what Becca did to me! I'll be so embarrassed! Plus we will have to go up against her and she wins every year."
"That's because you have never entered that talent show! I've heard the way you sing! Your like Arianna Grande!"
"I don't know I just need to think about it. I have way more important things to worry about than the talent show." With that I walked away and text Connor to meet me in the janitor closet next period. I needed to figure out what was going on. I can't loose an amazing friendship because he has a crush on me.
~Next Period~
I waited in the Janitors closet until Connor showed up. We both stepped inside and I locked the door. "Connor... what happened yesterday?"
"Uh, I kissed you and told you the truth. I had always been meaning to tell you but you were always caught up in Austin. I don't know I was In the moment." he answered avoiding looking directly at me.
"I, I just don't want things to be weird because of what happened. Your my best friend and we can't forget about Margo. I haven't told her and I don't how how she will react when we do! I can't just-" he cut me off. "Char listen, we don't have to tell her. We don't have to tell anybody. It will be our secret. I just care about you and seeing you so hurt made me feel some type of way. I'm gonna be late for class so I'm gonna go." Then he kissed me softly on my cheek and left.
I don't know what to do.
