5. Be Yourself

Jihae started the following morning by telling herself to forget what happened. She pushed everything out of her head; and made the new day as fresh as possible. Her routine remained unchanged: starting off with a hot shower then dress up for school. She came to the dining table early than ever. Helping the housemaid cooking the breakfast, Jihae was so bright for that day. She wanted to stay strong because it was not her fault, and she did not do anything unethical like she was accused for.

"Woah~ Jihae, you're up early. " Mr. Hwang took his seat. " Bet Hyunjin is still sleeping."

"So sorry, you lost the bet because I'm ready for school." Hyunjin came down the stairs.

"By the way, I don't have an appetite for this breakfast. " He dropped himself on the sofa, and turned on the TV. "Enjoy your breakfast. I'll wait right here."

Jihae looked at the breakfast she prepared for him and felt disappointed. She had put her effort into making breakfast for everyone, but Hyunjin turned down. She proceeded to her seat, and dig into for breakfast. After that, Jihae and Hyunjin were dropped off at school. During the ride, the car was really quiet. Everyone was not in the mood to talk.

Arriving at the gate, Jihae could see there were not much students as they were earlier than usual. She was kind of nervous after what happened yesterday, so she distanced herself a bit fom Hyunjin. She went straight to her class after taking a textbook from her locker. Everyone got to class one by one, but Jeongin was nowhere to be seen. She wondered what happened to him. that maybe Jeongin was late was on her mind. After the class started for about 20 minutes, Jeongin opened the door slowly and apologized to the teacher for being late. He reasoned that the bus ran got a flat tire so he could not get to class in time. The attention was all on him; however, the class resumed like nothing happened afterward.

Approaching lunch time, Jihae got a chilled spine as she was hoping that she would not encounter something bad. After class, most of the classmates went to the cafeteria so as Jihae and Jeongin.

"You know what? the bus did not have a flat tire. I slept in late. " Jeongin said with slight laughter. Jihae was surprised that he got the gut to lie to the teacher. She slightly opened her mouth in disbelief.

"Let's sit together with my friends for lunch okay? ah~ no need to answer, I will take the answer as a yes." he smiled widely, showing his silver brace. Jihae thought he looked cute whenever he smiled like that.

Students were queuing in a horizontal line, holding their trays to choose the food. Jihae and Jeongin joined the line as well. Once the students got their eyes on Jihae, they turned to their friends and talked about what happened the previous day. Challenging herself, Jihae ignored her surroundings and continued the wait to get her lunch. She proceed to finding a seat and found one empty table next to the entrance. Jeongin joined her table, and he kept complaining about the previous lecture.
"That was the most boring session ever~. I mean the subject itself is interesting but the way our teacher explained....Boooshhh!! Bland, dead, what else ???" Jeongin looked at Jihae and received a judgmental facial expression. Jihae pointed to his food to tell him to eat rather than talk.
"Okay I will" he looked down with a pout then dig into his food.
Immediately after that, Hyunjin and his group, Seungmin, Felix, Chan, Changbin and Jisung, came into the cafeteria.  The girls within the room tried to hide their excitement as the 6 guys are very well-known in the school. Hyunjin was known for his dancing skill; Seungmin was the top student of the school from last year and was known for his sweet vocal; Chan was the president of entertainment club; Changbin and Jisung accompanied Chan, but they are famous for their rapping and song-writing skill. As for Felix, he was known for his bubbly self, which bring up smile and laughter in the whole school. All of them came together to form a team working on musical projects and events for the school.

Jihae wasn't surprised of their entrance unlike other school girls who admired and idolized the group. She was there, eating her lunch. Seeing Jihae's I-don't-care expression, Jeongin tapped her and asked her why she wasn't as excited as other girls. Having just finished her meal, Jihae brought her tablet and wrote "What are they ? Human !!! Why should I be surprised or excited???"
Jeongin was taken aback. He didn't expect that coming.
"You don't know how popular they are in this school ? They hosted many school musical projects and they are well-known for their talent and...HandSomeNesssss" Jeongin exaggerated that part, meeting the expressionless face of Jihae.
'So what ? They don't look at good. Let's get out of here' Was her reply. Defeated, Jeongin got up from his seat and start walking towards the exit, side by side with Jihae.

As she exited the cafeteria, Felix noticed her.
"Hyunjin-ah, isn't that the girl coming with you ?"
Hyunjin turned to Felix frowned.
"So what ? Having her Out of my sight is the the best thing in my life"
"What happened with you guys ? Are you serious, dude ?" Jisung questioned with max curiosity.
"Forget it. I'm starving." Hyunjin coldly replied and started queuing for his food.

"She's a dead meat."

Someone whispered, full of anger and jealousy.

"Let's see how long you are going to survive." That person smirked.
