Who Are You ? | Hyunjin

3. First day of school

The morning came with a shiny bright sun rays penetrating the windows of Jihae's room, followed by the ringing sound of her alarm clock. Both the lights and her alarm made her wake up from her beauty sleep. She got out of her bed then grab her towel by the closet and went straight to take a shower. The warm water trickle down her face to other parts of the body, taking away all of her tiredness from the other day. After that shower, she dressed up in her uniform and looked into the mirror. She found herself like she used to be prior to the accident. Snapping out of her flashback, she grab her belongings then went downstairs.

Meanwhile, Hyunjin could not sleep well as he had been in an inauspicious day. He was furious at how a girl's presence had made his father against him. He had woken up even before his alarm rang. Having been taken a warm shower, he dressed up for school then went downstairs for breakfast.

Jihae got down the stair and saw a maid preparing breakfast for everyone while Mr. Hwang sit at the dining table reading his newspaper. Holding her tablet, Jihae wrote a greeting message and show it to both Mr. Hwang and the maid. "Good Morning, young lady" the maid replied with a warm tone. Mr. Hwang had a wide smile on her face and said "I'm glad you made yourself at home here." Jihae, then proceed to sit at her seat from yesterday and wrote something on her tablet. She showed Mr. Hwang: "I don't know where my school is. Could you please take me there just for today?" Mr. Hwang was surprised at her request. "Of course! Hyunjin goes to the same school as yours. I will drop you two there. Don't worry!" his replied made Jihae feel more comfortable as everyone treated her like a family.

However, not a guy named Hyunjin, He heard everything as he walked down the stairs. His blood boiled as he thought he has a competitor in his own house. He came to his place at the dining table, which is opposite of Jihae's. After the maid served them their breakfast, everyone dug into their food in silence. Hyunjin noticed Jihae;s glance at him; with an annoying face, he looked into her eyes. Jihae immediately looked at her food and stuffed it into her mouth. "What are you looking at? Haven't you seen me before? What do you want? " said Hyunjin with a flat tone. His question triggered his father by having Mr. Hwang telling him to stop.

After their breakfast, the two youngsters grabbed their bag and got in the car for school. Mr. Hwang sat next to the driver while two of them sat at the backseat. Hyunjin asked his father annoyingly "Dad, is she disabled ? Seems like she could talk without HER tablet. " Jihae was upset with what Hyunjin had said but she maintained a straight face while looking through the window to remember the route they were taking. "An accident took away her voice. Does that answer your STUPID question?" answered the blood boiling father. "when will he be mature?" Mr. Hwang said in a low and disappointing tone. He couldn't believe what Hyunjin had done during those times. Hyunjin was burning with furious. He was not able to handle the fact that his father answered him like that. He shut himself and looked out through the window, waiting to arrive at his school.

Hyunjin took a step out of the car, seeing a bunch of students walking towards the school gate. He noticed his friends were at the gate. They were waving for him to see then went to them. He was about to run to them but he heard his father's command. Mr. Hwang told him to take Jihae with him and to show her around to school to make her familiar with the environment. He groaned but did what he was told anyway.

Greeting by the unfamiliar environment, Jihae felt so small. She walked behind Hyunjin and followed his every steps. Other students were heading to the school gate up the little hill in the city. Jihae did not look ahead. Instead, she looked to the ground while following Hyunjin's footstep carefully. Holding her tablet tightly, she ignored her surroundings. Hyunjin abruptly stopped in front of his friend, but Jihae didn't notice and bumped into him slightly. She bowed to say sorry to the guy.

Seungmin, one of Hyunjin's friend, asked whether hyunjin knew the girl. Hyunjin replied that she was some girl who came to live in his house.

Being a friendly guy, Seungmin greeted Jihae with a warm smile and said "Good Morning. What's your name ?"

"Jihae, Can't you read her nameplate? She can't talk. " Hyunjin interrupted before Jihae could do anything to reply the boy. She was stunned by Hyunjin's reply. What she did was giving Hyunjin's friends a smile.

"Let's go" Hyunjin led the group while Jihae was trailing behind the group of guys. Entering the building, Hyunjin told his friend to go on without him as he had to help Jihae to find her class and schedule. He took her to information office and interacted with the staff to get everything for her while she was standing behind him.

After getting every papers for Jihae, he hand it to her annoyingly. "Can you find your own class with these papers ? " Hyunjin tilted his head to the right a bit and crossed his arm while waiting for Jihae's response. Jihae rummaged through the papers and nodded her head. "Good" was his reply. He left for his class while Jihae grabbed a paper displaying her schedule then left for her class.

She found her class and went inside. She found a seat in the second row in front of the teacher's table. She put her bag at the side and placed her pencil case on the table as well as her notebook. While she was doing her thing, a guy came in to her class. He noticed her and tapped her shoulder.

"Hey! we met at the gate. Remember ?" He smiled at her but she gave him a questioning look. She didn't seem to noticed him. "Ah~ I'm hurt you didn't noticed me. My name is Jeongin. Hope we will get along well." He flashed a smile showing his brace again and sat down in front of her.

When the class started, the teacher told Jihae to introduce herself as she was the newcomer. She had prepared her introduction the night before so what she did was to go to the board and to show everyone the messages on her tablet to the class. Everyone was in awe but they didn't seem to welcome her presence except Jeongin who smiled a lot.

The day went on without much fuss until the school was over. The time Mr. Hwang came to pick them up, the tension between Mr. Hwang and Hyunjin grew. They didn't talk to each other on the way back home. The dinner went quiet as well, until Mr. Hwang asked Jihae about her first day at school. That moment, Hyunjin got up and went to his room. The two continue their conversation until the night fell when they went to their room and rest.

I'm so sorry that I couldn't update for so long. I had exams so I had to study hard for my exams. In the next 2 weeks, there will be exams for me as well. I'm so sorry. I will work hard for the future updates.
