As class ended for the day, Izuku Midoriya was gathering his things and about to walk to the train station with his best friends, Ochako Uraraka and Tenya Ida.
"Are you ready, Deku?", Ochako asked with a bright smile, leaning inside the classroom.
"Yeah. I'll catch up with you in a few minutes.", he replied back, stuffing his notebooks in his backpack. 'Just a few more things..' Izuku thought to himself. 'I'll catch up to them in no time!' That's what he thought at least before his classmate Mina Ashido came up to him.
"Hey, Midoriya!" She exclaims with a wide smile on her face. That along with her pink skin caught Izuku off guard for a moment, utterly confused and startled before realizing who she was.
"Oh, h-hi, Ashido.", Izuku shyly said waving nervously at her. "Are you staying after?"
"Huh? Oh, no. I was actually going to walk home." Mina's smile radiated as she spoke to Izuku, a warmth glowing off of her words.
"Oh? Y-You want to walk with us?", he asked softly to the messy-haired girl. The sudden act of kindness surprised the Acid Quirk user just a bit. It wasn't new by any means, but this was the first time she witnessed it for herself.
"Sure!" She replies jumping in excitement, much to Izuku's surprise.
"O-Ok!" He nervously tells her with a soft smile. Still, he somehow kept his composure as they left the classroom to catch up with Uraraka and Ida.
"So, how are you feeling, Midoriya?"
"Hm? What do you mean?", the shy teen asked confusedly.
"You know, after breaking your bones again?", Mina jokes with a cheeky grin. She nudged him lightly since he'd just came out of the hospital not too long ago.
"Oh, I um, feel fine, I g-guess.", Midoriya managed to stutter out. "It's nothing too major, though I'd rather not speak on it..."
Mina looked at the sadness written in his eyes. Though she was concerned about her classmate, she wouldn't push him to tell her anything he didn't want her to know. At least not now.
"Well, I understand.", the pink girl finally says after a short silence. "I'm just surprised your brain's still intact after taking so many hits and breaking so many bones all the time!" Ashido shouts happily, the horned girl laughing a bit thinking about it.
The curly-haired boy slightly smiled thinking about how right she was. He'd broken so many bones trying to handle his Quirk, and even more trying to help others. It always made him wonder, if it wasn't for Recovery Girl those first few times, he'd still be in a hospital bed to this day. But he'd at least learned how to somewhat control One For All using Full Cowl, so it wasn't too bad getting a couple injuries now and then.
"Heh, yeah..", he simply responded, grabbing the straps of his yellow backpack. "I've been meaning to tell you, but never found the time to do so. You were great at the Sports Festival, Ashido."
'Again with the sweet gestures.', Mina pondered in her head. "Wha? Seriously?"
"Yeah! The way you evaded Aoyama's laser shots and used your acid was amazing!", Midoriya answers the curious teen, awkwardly imitating her movements from the Sports Festival.
"You make it sound like I did something special...", Mina responds shyly, a shade of lilac covering her face briefly. "It's nothing compared to what you and Todoroki did. Now that, THAT was amazing!"
Izuku remembered going up against his classmate at the Sports Festival, and how he wouldn't use his left side because of his father, the #2 Pro Hero Endeavor. However, Izuku convinced Shoto to use it, the Fire side of his Half and Half Quirk, and was finally be able to become a true hero. As expected of the two competitors, a steady friendship grew before the two classmates, and ever since that inspiring day, they've been more than amazing companions to one another.
Before they can finish their conversation, though, Uraraka and Ida were waiting outside the school for Midoriya.
"Hey, you guys!" Uraraka shouted out.
"Hm? Did Uraraka know I was here?" Mina asked softly.
"Y-Yeah. I text Uraraka to let her know you were with me.", Izuku said sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck. "I hope that's alright with you, Ashido."
'How is this boy so sweet?', Ashido asked herself, rubbing her own shoulder in a shy nature. "N-No, it's alright, Midoriya.", she managed to get out of her mouth. "Let's get going, I guess."
Without thinking, Izuku grabbed Mina's hand, which was surprisingly soft and smooth. Though he began to blush slightly, he lost his stuttering and nervousness for a moment. "Are you ok?"
Mina gazed into his jade eyes, which were deeply concerned about his classmate. This action made Mina feel flustered inside, but she tried her best to hide it.
"Yeah. I'm alright, Midoriya. Thank you."
Just a short introduction to a ship I personally think would work out if given proper time and development (looking at you, Horikoshi). Aside from my opinions that don't matter, I hope you all enjoy this fanfic! Special thanks to QuirkQuartz for the idea and inspiration for this, and my love for the ship! Anyways, have a great day, be safe, and stay fantastic!
