Mikey sighed as he sat down on the floor, his older brother Raph had just taken his coloring book and stormed off with it, and Splinter wasn't here so he couldn't cry to him. Mikey was 3 years old and had nothing to do. At his age, there wasn't much he could do. Well not without getting in trouble. He stood up and stretched and walked over to the door to their little home. He knew Splinter wouldn't be back yet, maybe he had time to go for a quick walk before anyone notices he was gone. Something was telling him to go for a walk anyway, he couldn't figure out why he wanted to, he just did. Mikey looked around and slowly opened the door and snuck out.
"Mikey, you are the best ninja evea!" Mikey shouted to himself before covering his mouth and looking around making sure no one heard him. He knew where Splinter would be walking back from and turned and went the other way. He started skipping, enjoying being free and being out and about alone.
He walked around for about 10 minutes before he started getting scared, being out alone. There was no protection from the monsters. He thought to himself.
"Maybe I should head back..." He said to himself, just before he turned around he stopped, he thought he heard something. It sounded like a sewer lid closing. He raised an eye ridge and curiosity took over him and instead of doing what he knew Splinter would have him do, he made his way towards the noise. Silence filled the air as he walked, he was about to give up again, getting bored of walking, when a loud crying sound appeared. He started running towards the sound as fast as his little legs could take him.
He stopped to take a breath and saw a small cardboard box, Mikey curiously made his way over to the box. He poked his head into the box, the crying had stopped and now he was starting at a little girl, about his age.
"Hello?" He asked confused. The girl didn't make any noise or movements. Mikey looked around and didn't see anyone and smiled to himself. He went to the other side of the box and started pushing it back to the lair. The girl had short, jet black hair, a yellow t-shirt, and blue shorts on. Mikey just knew he had found himself a best friend. She was his age, after all, he smiled at the thoughts of all the fun they would have, coloring, TV, and trying to stay up all night. It was going to be amazing. She was human, but Mikey had a feeling that she would love them and wanna be part of his family.
The movement of the box woke up the little girl.
"Hmm?" She asked sounding confused. She opened her eyes and sat up, falling back over with a yelp. The box stopped moving.
"You're awake!" Mikey said looking into the box, the girl looked up at him and tilted her head, she waved at him but didn't say anything. "I Mikey," Mikey said proudly. "What you name?" The girl didn't respond and just held up a small necklace around her neck. "Aww....I tant read....Don't worry Donnie will be able to!" Mikey said before going back to pushing the box. The girl sat back in the box and looked around as the box moved. She had bright emerald green eyes that looked full of wonder and excitement.
Mikey finally made his way into the lair and closed the door behind him.
"Michelangelo!" Mikey jumped hearing Splinter call his name. He poked his head around the box and looked at Splinter, the rat that is his Father, had his arms crossed and did not look happy.
"Yes?" Mikey asked nervously making his way over to Splinter.
"Why did you leave the lair. You are too young to be going out there alone." Splinter said, he looked at the box and walked over to it. "What is this, my son?" He looked into the box and saw the young girl and sighed. The girl smiled up at him and waved.
"I finded her! Can she stay here? Pwease?!" Mikey begged giving Splinter puppy eyes. Splinter reached into the box and picked up the little girl and looked at her necklace.
"Hello, Kimberly. Where are you mom and dad?" He asked. Kimberly started to cry softly.
"Oh no! She sad..." Mikey said the crying brought the other turtle tots into the room.
"Mikey cryin again?" Raph asked annoyed. They all saw the little girl in Splinter's arms and looked surprised. Splinter tried to calm her down.
"It is alright, do not be afraid." Splinter said rocking her. Kimberly calmed down and fell asleep snuggled up in his arms.
"So....can we keep her?" Mikey asked smiling happily.
"I do not think that would be wise my son." Splinter said sighing and looking at the girl in his arms. She appeared to be perfectly normal. She started to give off a faint yellow glow, causing Splinter to stop thinking about why she had been found in the box. "We may watch over her, she's special."
"Yes! I was wright!!" Mikey yelled jumping up and down. Splinter started to walk over to the couch.
"My sons you have a little sister, her name...." Splinter stopped and sat down, the turtle tots climbed up and sat next to him. "Is Kimberly."
"Hi, Kimmy..." Leo said waving, Donnie pouted slightly and reached over to poke her.
"Donatello be nice to your sister. Let her sleep." Splinter said calmly.
