I KISSED MY DAD GOODBYE AND LEAD ABEL TO THE FRONT DOOR. waiting for us were one of my best friends gracie and my brother's best friend, daniel. gracie was my bestest best friend, and daniel was her little brother so the four of us see each other a lot.

i met gracie in on my first day of the second grade. i didn't originally speak to her until two weeks later since to be completely honest for a 7 year old she was terrifying. then one day we just started talking, and instantly clicked and became best friends. daniel and abel became best friends the first time they met since they had clicked like we did, but a lot quicker than gracie and i had.

she has silky jet black hair which she will never voluntarily put in a ponytail. currently it's was tucked behind her ears, revealing little silver studs each ear. gracie had small black sunglasses on, holding her hair in place. they were small enough to see her striking blue eyes peaking out from over them. her black eyebrows were perfectly arched to achieve a constant simultaneous look of boredom and intrigue. gracie's freckles had been concealed by makeup but a few rogue ones were scattered across her neck and collarbone before disappearing into her thrashers crop sweater. her gold belly button piercing was visible through the fishnet tights she was wearing underneath light blue ripped jeans. her black open toed high heels showed her white toenails matched her white almond shaped nails which were wrapped around her bare phone.

the only resemblance between daniel and gracie were the arched eyebrows, besides that they looked nothing alike. daniel had undercut chocolate brown hair which was hidden underneath a black baseball hat. he was wearing a white distressed t-shirt and dark blue rolled up jeans with knee rips that i bought for him last year. is white vans matched his t-shirt as did his white watch.

"yellow socks?" abel laughed pointing to daniel's feet where pale yellow socks were just about visible from his shoes.

"i didn't have any others, okay." he defended and i chuckled slightly

"hey, dan." i smiled, going in for a hug. daniel happily returned it and i kissed his hair.

"wait so he gets a hug, but i don't?" gracie questioned, offended. i rolled my eyes at her and pulled her into a hug. we both sighed into the hug. i felt gracie smell me and i pushed her away.

"did you just smell me?"

"yes. are you wearing my dior perfume? i thought i'd lost that. give it back!" gracie whined

"nu uh you left it at my house so now it's mine." i poked my tongue out at her and she glared at me. i heard the shrill ring of the bell from inside signifying first period was beginning. i hugged daniel and abel goodbye, instructing abel to meet me in the same spot after school. gracie had history and i had biology so we split up, agreeing to meet by her locker for lunch.

i got to my biology class as the last people were arriving, later than i should've been. scanning the classroom for anyone i knew, i spotted julie andrews who i had been partners with last year and slid into the seat next to her. julie's very introverted so we simply shared a smile as i got my books and pencil case out. from what i could see, i had a pretty decent class consisting of mainly 'nerds' so this year shouldn't be too bad. personally i don't view myself as a nerd, i do pay attention in my classes and i get alright grades- not the best but definitely not the worst. except from math. nearly every year i fail it. it's most likely to do with my dyscalculia but i don't like telling people so this year i'm just getting a plain old school tutor which is normal procedure for someone failing a subject. when i was diagnosed with dyscalculia the doctor said it was to do with genetics since abel had ADHD. i am, however, brilliant at biology so our school decided to test a new theory out. they found me a tutor who is great at math but not so great at biology so we'll both be tutoring each other.

"good morning, class. i'm your teacher, mr dawson." the teacher stood up, writing his name on the board. "i see you've already seated yourselves but i made a seating plan in order for me to get to know you quicker." i pouted at julie as i put my stuff back into my bag. she's the only one i knew in this class.

mr dawson read out names from his list and pointed to seats. i didn't listen until he called my name and pointed to a seat in the back corner of the classroom and i dragged my bag over. as i arranged my books on the desk the chair beside me was pulled out and someone flopped down in it. i turned to smile at them because i've always been taught first impressions need to be  the best impressions and since i'm going to be sitting next to this person for the rest of the year i need to make a good impression.

"hey, i'm noah greene." i introduced.

"milo da silva." he nodded in acknowledgment. i thought milo looked familiar, but it wasn't until he introduced himself that i realised where from. milo was part of the heavily cliched bad boy trio that every high school seemed to have. milo had dark brown, basically black, hair and light brown eyes, the left of which was lazy. he was chewing gum and occasionally blew a bubble and popped it. mr dawson said nothing even though gum is strictly banned. i guess that's one of the perks of being the third most popular guy in school.

"forewarning, i tend to unconsciously tap my nails against the desk and it's apparently really annoying, so you can just tell me to cut it out and i'll try my hardest." i warned

"nah it'll be fine; i'm into asmr." milo said

"oh so you're a joker now?" i questioned, smiling

"no i'm being serious." milo pulled out his phone under the desk and showed me his youtube history which was just asmr videos

"wow." i laughed and he held a finger up by his lips, telling me to shush. "don't you worry, your secret's safe with me."
