"I don't see anything." Derek shakes his head, looking away from Allison and Lydia's wrist - not seeing the similarities between the bruises, which they were convinced meant something.
"Look again." Scott pleads, but Derek just shook his head. "How is a bruise gonna tell me where Boyd and Erica are?"
"It's the same on both sides. Exactly the same." Scott urges, but Derek just glances up at Allison, who was giving him a death glare.
"Pareidolia." Lydia suddenly said, causing everyone to look towards her, as she just explained. "Seeing patterns that aren't there. It's a subset of apophenia."
Scott then looked at Derek, "They're trying to help."
"These two?" Derek questioned sarcastically, before pointing at Lydia, "This one, who used me to resurrect my psychotic Uncle. Thank you." He then points to Allison, "And this one, who shot about 30 arrows into me and my pack."
"Okay, all right, now, come on. No one died." Stiles spoke up, "Alright? Look, there may have been a little maiming, okay, a little mangling, but no death. That's what I call an important distinction."
Allison nods before looking at Derek, "My mother died."
"Your family's little honor code killed your mother. Not me." Derek said without missing a blink, but Allison glared at him. "That girl was looking for Scott. I'm here to help him, not you."
But Derek just gives her a look. "Wanna help? Find something real."
He then begins walking away, but Scott stopped him at the door, voice lowered. "Give her a chance. They're on our side."
"Well, then maybe you should tell her what her mother was actually trying to do that night."
Then he leaves, causing Scott to glance back at Allison.
But then Stiles moved over to him, showing his phone and text chain with Hailee. "Okay, I'm just going to say it again. Maybe your cousin living with you isn't the best idea, because she's already suspicious something is going on."
Scott looked at his phone, before giving Stiles a look. "She's just wondering why we left earlier than she did this morning."
"Yeah." Stiles nods and shrugs like it was obvious. "Because she knows something is going on. Especially after that bird thing. What if we... tell her."
Scott sighed and shook his head, "Stiles, we talked about this. It's the same reason you don't want to tell your dad."
As they walked into the hallway, the two ended up stopping - seeing Hailee walking with Jake in the hallway, and clearly happy as she did. Stiles nodded with a breath, understanding why Scott wanted to keep her out of any danger.

"The stock market is based on two principles." Coach Finstock announced after slamming a book on his desk, he then glances around the classroom. "What are they?"
