Blind Date

Part 1

Bucky was in the gym training for his next fight with Steve and Sam when Nat walked in and said "You know it's rude to stand your girlfriend up Steve?'

"Oh sorry baby we got a late start." Steve said 

"Yeah we got a late start cause someone was late." Sam said 

"Sorry Nat.' Bucky said as he walked to the side of the ring. 

"It's fine I ended up having drinks with Ellie." Nat said 

Steve hopped out of the ring kissed Nat's cheek and said "just let me shower and we will grab dinner." 

Sam left the ring too and said "I better go to before Carol shows up here too for missing dinner with her." 

"Thanks guys ditching me for your girls when I have a big fight coming up." Bucky said 

Nat looked at Bucky and said "Where's Mia?'

"We broke up last week..I'm to much to handle is what she said in other words she hates my job. She hated when I showed up with black eyes and busted lips or bruised ribs. It was to much for her." Bucky said as he walked past her. 

"Buck you will find someone that can handle this." Nat said

"I'm starting to wonder if that girl exist." he said as he undoes the tape on his hands. 

Nat looked down and said "Bucky you need to have some faith that the right girl is out there. All these girls that you have dated they only see the job they don't see the you. I've known since we were teenagers I know you are a good guy you just need to find that girl that sees it too." 

"Yeah well if you find her let me know..cause I'm getting about sick of being ditched or the 5th wheel or wasting my time." he said as he threw his stuff into his duffel bag and left the gym. 

When he got home he took a hot shower as tough as Bucky was in the ring he had a side no one got to see that was his vulnerable side as he was standing in the shower he started to cry as he thought about what Nat said to him.

Meanwhile across town Nat was eating dinner with Steve and said "Steve do you think Ellie is Bucky's type." 

"I don't know if Bucky has a type." Steve said 

"Steve I'm serious.." Nat said

"Well she's beautiful so that's a plus um she knows how to cook which is even bigger plus cause he loves to eat and she is tough and you both are great photographers. I mean I don't really know her all that well. I just know those things about her. Why are you asking?" Steve said as he took a drink of his beer.

"I thought about setting them up. Like on a blind date." Nat said 

"You want to set Bucky up on a blind date." Steve said

"Yes I do..Ellie recently became a single and Bucky told me while you were in the shower that him and Mia broke up last week." Nat said 

"Well you can try it but I don't know how well it will go. He doesn't do well with surprises." Steve said

"I think it will be good for them both. Besides I think Bucky needs someone like Ellie she's sweet but she's tough. She's got a nurturing factor about her and I think that's just what he needs." Nat said 

"You think that's what Bucky needs." Steve said 

"Yes I do..he said tonight that Mia couldn't handle the injuries he came home with..I think Ellie would be able to handle it." Nat said 

"Whatever." Steve said 

Nat texted Ellie who was sitting at home on her laptop going over all the pictures she had taken that day at work. "Hey how would you feel about a blind date?" Nat texted her 

"Um I haven't had the best of luck with those but I'm willing to try." Ellie texted back 

"Good I want you to meet someone he's been a friend of mine and Steve's since we were teenagers." Nat said 

"Is he cute." Ellie texted back 

"Yeah he is." Nat said 

"Great..set it up and let me know." Ellie texted back 

Nat took a breathe and pulled up Bucky's information and called him. He threw beer cap on his counter and said "hello." 

"Hey Buck it's Nat." she said 

"I know you called my cellphone it' has caller ID." he said 

"RIght anyways um how would you feel about a blind date." Nat said 

"Nat are you serious right now?'Bucky said

"Yes I am serious I know a girl whose very sweet and beautiful. She loves to cook which Steve said a double plus in your book." Nat said 

"What does she look like cause if she's ugly I don't want to go." Bucky said

"I just said she's beautiful but she has big blue eyes and brown hair with blonde highlights and she works with me." Nat said 

"I guess I will go..when do you want me to do this blind date." Bucky said 

"When is a good night for you." Nat said

"Any night after training for the next two weeks." he said

"Ok great I will take care of this part cause I have already talked to her. Good night Bucky don't drink to much." Nat said 

"Haha." Bucky said as he drink his beer." 

They both hung up the phone. 

Nat texted them both and told them to meet at Red Lobster Saturday at 7pm the reservation is under Rogers. Nat told Steve so Bucky wouldn't for
