-Damien

I walked out of my 4th-hour class and started walking with Sammy to the cafeteria. once we walked through the doors into the courtyard, my eyes immediately started scanning the areas for the red hair I saw this morning. it took me a few minutes before I found her, and my eyes followed her movements and she started to dance to a song she was playing on her phone. they were very subtle, but she was very graceful and balanced.

a girl of many talents.

I nudged Sammy and pointed to the girls "isn't that your friend? are you not gonna go hang out with her?"

"no, because you seem to already like her, and she doesn't need any more heartbreak in her life," he answered quickly.

"woah okay, I guess I'll just go introduce myself" I started walking towards her before I felt an arm on my chest, stopping me.

"fine, ill introduce you guys, but don't be too outgoing, she's shy around new people." we both started walking towards them, and Sammy plastered a smile on his face as he walked up to Mikey and blew on her neck, scaring her. I turned my eyes away from them as they shamelessly flirted. I turned towards the red-haired girl and met her eyes. she immediately looked away, turned off her music, and sat down against the wall of a building.

I cautiously walked towards her and sat down near her, giving her a few feet to get used to me.

I looked at Sammy and saw that  Mikey seemed to be scolding him and looking at us occasionally. sammy huffed and walked towards me and the girl and sat down between us, Mikey on her left, and Sammy on her right, blocking me from seeing her.

they said things in hushed whispers quickly, and I saw Mikey pull out a pack of Sour Patch Kids from her backpack, and give them to the girl. she flipped Mikey off as she (obviously resisting) scooted closer to me.

I glanced at her, and she glanced at me, then looked away quickly. I turned towards her a bit and smiled sweetly at her; "I'm Damien" she glanced at me then finally I heard her whisper "Cara." Cara. that's an interesting name. I like it.

I looked back at her, and after a few minutes she looked back at me, but yet again she turned away with a red face.

I sighed as the bell rang, getting up to go to my next class. she didn't talk to me all of lunch. I pulled out my earbuds and started playing music. I put my hoodie over my head and right before I went through the doors, I turned around and looked for her, only to see that her eyes were already staring into mine from across the yard. she straightened and hurried into the door with Mikey on her tail. I need to get her to talk to me.
