13.) Don't leave me

Jay's POV

"Hey," I smiled at Mary. "Hi." She mumbled. "What happened?" I asked concerned. "I'm sorry," She whispered. "About what?" I asked raising an eyebrow. "I'm moving Jay." She whispered. "You are lying." I shook my head. "My parents found a better job in Indiana." She sighed. "But when are you leaving?" I asked shocked. "I'm leaving today that's why I called you here. I couldn't tell you at school because I was scared that you were on a hate me." She whispered. "Mary I would never hurt you." I shook my head and she sighed a tear coming out of her eye and I wiped it. "It's gonna be okay. We could skype and call and maybe for vacation you can come here or I could go there. It's gonna be okay." I smiled at her. I wasn't happy but I couldn't cry right now. If I cried then she could not hold on to me and cry. She would feel bad and all I would do is make her feel worse so I have to be her rock now.

"Thanks Jay." She whispered and hugged me tight and I hugged her back. I heard a beep and I looked to my right and there was a pickup truck and I sighed. "That's my ride." She mumbled. I walked her to the pick up truck and hugged her tight and kissed her cheek. "Bye Mary." I whispered. "Bye Jay," She mumbled and got into the truck and they drove away. Just like that.

She left.

I walked home and I walked into the kitchen and groaned. Mom and Cody went to the grocery store and they told me not to go out but I did either way. I ran my fingers through my hair and I felt the tears start. I was alone so I could cry. Mady was at Elizabeth's house so I was home alone. Mary fucking left and I let her. She could've stayed with us or something. I should've done something about it but I'm just a kid. I can't do shit.

I wiped my tears angrily and groaned in frustration. "Why did you leave Mary?" I whispered to myself and grabbed a water bottle and went up to my room. We won't be at the park anymore. I can't defend her. I might be a kid but I know how it feels to be picked on or hurt. I hope she makes new friends but at the same time I hope she didn't. It was selfish of me but what if she found another best friend? Someone better than me. That's what I was afraid of.

I felt the door open and I walked downstairs. "Hey Jay wanna help me with the groceries?" Cody asked and I nodded. I walked out and grabbed the groceries and placed them on the table. "Thanks Jay." Mom said sitting at the table. "Welcome." I said.

"Did you hear that Mary left?" Mady asked. They probably picked her up after they left the grocery store. "Yeah." I mumbled. "Aw honey, it's okay. I'll talk to her parents and see if she can come for vacation," Mom said but I knew that it was probably not gonna happen. "Yeah I hope," I sighed. "You need to brighten up. Wanna invite some of your friends over?" Cody asked. "No thanks I'll just be upstairs," I shook my head.

"Wait I'm going to the studio tomorrow can you take the kids to dance?" Cody asked. "Yeah sure babe," She nodded and he pecked her lips. She smiled at him and I nodded and went upstairs and shut my door and layed on my bed. "I know your upset." A voice said making me jump and I noticed Mady on my chair. "I'm not upset," I snapped. "Jay I know your upset. Look Mady was my friend too and I'm upset but it's okay if you wanna show it." She sighed.

"Mady I'm not upset. I'm happy for her. She'll get a new school and she'll start fresh in Indiana." I insisted.

"I'm not stupid Jay." She groaned. "Mady can you leave it alone?" I snapped and she sighed and walked out. I'm happy for her. She can start over. I felt my phone buzz and I grabbed it and put it to my ear.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hi Jay." I heard Mary say and I smiled. "What's up?" I asked. "My mom changed her mind! Can you come to the address I sent you by text?" She asked but it didn't sound much like Mary but it had caller ID. "Yeah I'll see you there." I smiled and walked downstairs. "Mom I'll be back in ten." I said. "Where?" She asked. "The park," I lied. "Okay honey be careful and call me when your there." She sighed and I nodded. I walked out and started walking to the address she sent me.

"Why does she wanna meet up here?" I mumbled looking around. It was an old house for sure. I shrugged and walked into the house.

"Mary?" I asked walking in. The floor shook a little and I widened my eyes but kept walking. Suddenly I felt a wipe go over my nose.

"What the fuck?" I yelled but in seconds it was all black.
